Its in a "rumor" at IGN . . .

And if you don't want to make the supreme effort of clicking on the link:

SNK Re-opening US offices
Good things never die, really. Just look at how Infogrames bought what was left of Atari and is now branding its games with the 30-year-old Atari logo. When you have a game company that's produced the quantity of well-known and well-liked games that SNK did, it's hard to let things just...go away. Well, SNK's founder's sister now owns the rights to the SNK, Neo-Geo, etc., and she has plans. In addition to the news article posted on our site today, we have heard that SNK is looking to re-open offices here in the US, and that it has plans to create games for multiple platforms starting in 2002. This may lead to two different development houses, one in Japan and one in the US. We'll know more concrete news soon.

Very interesting, I hope its true . . .

ALL RIIIIIGHT!! I was wondering what SNK was gonna do... I mean, the AES is still the bomb, but it'll eventually fall to the wayside. Now, she can put games on more powerful systems. Ooh! Maybe we'll even see a "Fatal Fury: Wild Ambition 2"!!

That seems to be a load of bullshit considering that SNK failed cause of U.S. sells. Hate to say it but Capcom runs things in the U.S. and SNK ruled in the Asia and Europe.

Those poor SNK employees will have to put up with our annoying emails and phone calls now.

Let's hope they won't be as incompetent as the last wave of SNK employees.

Interesting news but we must be careful. The real SNK is (IMO) 'dead' - so any company can buy a name or logo, but talent is another think.

The SNK I knew gave me some greats moments -just hope that will continue...

I hope not. They don't really need the expenses of running and maintaining a US branch. They've already been working with Apple; they should just keep that relationship going for arcade stuff.

In other words, it's a rumor that pretty much counts for nothing. Let's wait on some official announcements.
