“Initially, Aruze was enthusiastic about supporting SNK's reconstruction plans but then suddenly turned face in April this year, demanding 100% re-payment of debts from SNK,” reports Manjiro Works. “The company stopped supplying pachi-slot machines for SNK to sell and seized a large amount of SNK stock held in Aruze warehouses. Aruze loaded SNK's board of directors with its own staff and opposed all motions at SNK's meeting of shareholders in June.

Gotten from Replay.

Well I guess they must have owed them a lot of money releasing unnecssary games like NITD, Sengoku 2001, Zupapa and another KOF which might not even go to the Neo system.

The "Siezing Stock" thing has me curious. I wonder what kind of stock it was. More than likely, Pocket goods, but still. Makes ya' wonder.

Damn. SNK took money from WOLVES in sheeps clothing. It was all A-RUZE to destroy SNK.

Damnit, Aruze! <IMG SRC="smilies/mad.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/veryangry.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/mad.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/veryangry.gif" border="0">

Big Bear- Oh, I get it. *rimshot* Sure sounds like one to me.

I never trusted Aruze from the start. I wish someone like Sega, Capcom, or Taito would've bought SNK instead.

Sega or Capcom would've rather likely got them going on NAOMI. Taito would probably have started them on G-Net while gaining some new 2D fighting games in their lineup (their last one was Kaiser Knuckle from '94).

I'd rather play SNK games on my Neo-Geo.

I know no one ever listens to me, but everyone in Japan knows that Aruze is a Yakuza company. I mean, it's pachinko. That's pretty dirty as it is.

So what do you expect? fair play?

Aruze bought out SNK because they thought they could make money off the reformation, when they saw SNK couldnt do it they pulled out instead of losing money themselves.

not very nice, but smart bussiness.

Aruze is a giant company, any other like Nintendo or Sony would have done the same.
