I have a bad feeling that it'll play just like other PS port games.....slow, missing frames, and so on........

Heh,i've already posted this at the unrelated topics,but nevermind.

The CPS2 ports to the psx were crap.I shudder to think of a Naomi port to psx 1.OMG!! this would be absolute crap.Some things are better left to be untouched.What was capcom thinking? They think that by porting it to psx would make the game sell well.I don't think so.Nobody would want to buy an inferior port and in this case,it would be an even more crappy port.They might make those special effects in 2d CPS2 style and about that high res 2d graphics,lol i shudder at the thought of it <IMG SRC="smilies/eek.gif" border="0">

I might actually have to get this just to see how bad it is. It can't be worse than DBGT or SS: Warriors Rage were. <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0">

Watch the character sizes be scaled down. Naomi to PS1? It's going to be just like porting a high Megabit Neo-Geo game down to a SNES cart.

I'm sure it will be cut down to 320x240 and we'll see the trademark longass load times.

Because more people around the world have PlayStations than they do practically any other console, and PSX games are dirt cheap to make. Money in the bank.

If you have some interest in fighting games, can't afford a PS2 or Xbox, or whatever, and are too poor/dumb to get a modded Dreamcast, but you still have your crummy old PSX at home, and you hear that CVS is coming to the PSX, are you going to buy a copy? Damn right you are.

Definitley not a good idea to port a game the ps1 couldnt possibly handle well...all the arcade ports didnt come close to good..i would be embarrassed to be the person who allows this to happen....these people dont think man. <IMG SRC="smilies/spock.gif" border="0">

Actually, Darkstalkers 3 was very well-done. But still not as good as the Sega ports.

I somewhat agree with you ROTB.
darkstalkers,alpha 3 are some good ports even though they are still inferior to the arcade and saturn version but CvS PRO is in a different league.It has high res 2d backdrops,awesome naomi special effects and some good character animation.Yeah CVS pro uses some alpha sprite but as you can see,fighters such as sagat has more frames of animations added to him even though they use his alpha sprite.The psx version might resemble alpha 3 in some ways concerning the sprites.I wonder how the nice looking iori(CvS style sprite) is gonna look like in the psx version.

Those special effects can't be done of the psx.Maybe they might either be toned down or they might use the old CPS2 effects or soemthing but definately not the naomi style effects.

Why would capcom want to port this game to the psx is beyond me? Maybe they wanna make profit.It might sell well.
