$5100 and the reserve isn't met?

I'm really starting to hate this hobby.

Wow, that's an amazing collection. The price is too high for me to even think about it.

!Arcade! takes the fun out of participating in these auctions by setting those astronomical reserves. If this were a no reserve auction with a low starting bid it would generate a lot more interest and there would be a better chance for their target price to be met.

I got three words for you. Em Vee Ess. Please, no one start seriously collecting MVS and turn it into the joke AES is. I said it before; for the amount this auction is at you could buy a 6 slot dedicated MVS machine, and just about every game for it. I am watching this auction closely, but sadly.

Tonk is the high bidder.

Saw this little side note on the page, and I have never seen it on an auction before.

The item price has exceeded the eBay Payments transaction limit for this listing.

it's probably just at $6000, if you mid point the cost of carts listed. I'd hate to think he's picking only hsawn's high point prices... It wouldn't be won then.

Buying everything seperately you`d have to shell out approx $7.5K for this. Now get everything together and in mint condition from a reliable seller - cool for the guy winning this auction.

Too bad I can`t participate since jap carts mean nothing to me (if an US version exists of course) and I got all of these except MS1 already.

But I`m sure Ray got to relist it if our Tonkybaby troll wins this since he will have to stop eating for 2 years if he wants to pay for this. Why else would he have bought and sold his handful of games in the past over and over again without keeping them once?

This sounds harsh and it`s supposed to. I can`t stand this two-minded idiot: One day all is fine the next he goes nuts and starts attacking this BBS with his armada of spam posts.

I can't decide if it's a good or bad thing???

GOOD

My collection is worth an ass load of money, and if I'm ever in a bind I can just sell it and everything is OK. (minus loosing one hell of a collection)

Even at that price I still want those games. (Thank you SNK for the best video games on the planet)

Ummmmmmmm It stimulates the economy. (I needed another good reason)

BAD

GOD DAMN IT!!! WHY IS SUCH QUALITY ENTERTAINMENT AND ART SO MUCH GOD DAMN MONEY!!!

TONK IS HIGH BIDDER!!!

I CAN'T AFFORD ANYTHING THAT EXPENSIVE!!!

I agree with this. MVS games are cheaper, the same damn quality. Wait a year and get 2001, also get the full arcade feel. Hell I got a neo candy next to me, and now that its repaired my HOME CARTS just sit.(THANK YOU OLD PC PSU)
When games you have are worth a ton of dough you loose interest in even enjoying them, MVS is and always will be the best medium gameplay wise.
Very good point indeed.

I'm sure that auction won't meet it's reserve. Most of Arcade's auction never meet the reserve. Just a plain fact.

Good Point LWK, but for some the home scene is how they wan their games. MVS is awsome for people who love SNK games and just want to play. For me and some other people on the boards, in addition to playing Neo Geo with every free waking hour of the day, it is alos a bobby. I love collecting Neo Geo home carts (the good one's anyway), and for that reason this is one bad ass auction.

I won't shell out 6000+ all at once for Neo games. But, I'll for a long span of time..like most people will.
Agreed with Gamefan, it will be hard to reach the reserved price.

Hmmm... I can see why you might think so.

But it is no more boring than all the posts of collectors complaining about the high cost of AES and then still paying them.

It's just an opinion, ignore it if you wish.

Good point. WHO THE HELL HAS $6000+ to shell out on ANYTHING let alone video games on a whim. I would love to own all those games, but it is just not logical to buy them all at once. But how cool would it be to have them all arive on one day. You would be in gaming bliss for months!!!

Ya, I'm with you Pichai. Sure this hobby can get expensive, but I've got a big problem shelling out that kind of cash all at once for such things. The occational $200-$300 cart is ok, but only once in a while and only then if i've been a "good boy" or if I sold some item(s) on eBay,
