Is King of Fighter 2001 worth getting?

Looks like a lot of people sold their copy of KoF 2000.

I myself am not too big a fan of kof2000 although i have full mvs kit, as for kof2001, never played it but once its down to $250 on mvs will definately get it as its something to play <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I have owned 98-99-00, but '00 was a big dissapointment for me. When I first saw the screenshots of '01 I thought; "Man, that looks like an updated version of '98!!!This is SO cool!"
The graphics seem much lighter than '99 and '00. And I've heard that the animation is on par with '98, so you can't go wrong there!
This is definetly one to get if you are into KOF, or a good game to get into it. Just a shame that it'll take another 3 months until it'll be released....

the game in itself is always the same

they clearly lost it with 2000 with all that bugs + cheapness + strikers + missin frames of animations garbage

funny how in the ending they name the bug testers - checkers in 2k....

as in "THEIR FAULT,PEOPLE !!!"

the differences in the gameplay in 2k1 can be seen in the videos

strikers are still there

but

1)
less abusive
( joe for example,hes not the fuckin god of the strikers anymore )

if you want 3 strikers you can only have 1 fighter

the game now is MORE BALANCED

plus,
the new characters are SUPER ANIMATED

and theyre TOPS

and the whole game is colorful

2000 is so dull.grey.sad.
dark colours

really reflects what they were feeling at the time.....

As far as I am concerned,its just a matter of taste, i dislike kof 2000 alot and love 98 and 99 i know a lot of people hate 99 and love 2000, to know if its worth getting you really have to try it yourself, i found that out with kof2000, i read so many people say it was great and i got it as none of the arcades around here had it in, what a mistake because to be honest its a pile of shit, i would take kof 94 any day of the year,
As however i have spare cash and i usually like the kof games i will get it when its cheap enough on mvs, after all its really the last oficial snk/eolith game before this new company takes over so it would be nice to own <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

...you guys should see the combo videos out now for DL for KoF2001 - they are SWEET. i'm sure some of the KoF combo master out there would luv to get their paws and pummel thine opponents to the ground with some KoF2k1 mad skillz. i myself cannot wait to get my hands dirty and do those combos in KoF2k1. to sum it up tho, i'll definitely get the MVS kit when this one comes out. but i will wait around till the AES comes out so maybe i can cheap out on a used MVS cart somewhere. i will try and get it for $250.00 MVS but that's about it. i will wait around on KoF2k but i will still try and get it even tho lee gray thought it was crap, lol. <IMG SRC="smilies/redface.gif" border="0">

LOL you know what Ray even the intro sig that you have of kof2000 is the worse intro in kof history, it just has the same frames of animation all the way through his walk, how lame is that.i have full mvs kit of kof2000 and its collecting dust,..hehe

KOF 99 is more dissapointment than 2K. The strikers in 99 are useless all the way. In 2k they nearly fixed that.

And in 99 you need this flashing bar shit again too unleash a max super. like in extra mode. How sloppy!

there weren't strikers in the NEO version of 99 were there?

i thought they were DC only- i always turned the striker shit off anyway.

I've played KOF2k1 a couple of times now. I gotta say I like it more than 2000. 98 is my favorite so you know what I like. Heidern is great! No more charging! It's so easy to combo his moves. Goro's little boy is funny as hell too.
People can still cheese with combos but it is harder. I say get it but for no more than 250 bux.

I'll get it some time this year myself.

There's strikers in '99, but there might as well not be because they suck so much...

I love the Strikers in 2K, they add a lot of variety. Duck King is way better than Joe <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

I love 2K for one reason: Vanessa. If she wasn't in the game it would be crap. Vanessa's in 2K1, she has new moves, it'll be good. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I am glad you lkike it, everyone has there own tastes and it sucks when people dis the game you like, i love fatal fury 2 as much now as i ever use to, i put so much money into the arcades when it coame out, then got in on aes then on neo cd which i hated as the music was shite and now on mvs, but alot of people say its shit, as long as you enjoy thats the main thing. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">
