Well, if its as good as it sounds, and it plays JAMMA, this is a wonderful item. Compare $349 to the cost of say a SuperNOVA or an HGA. As long as it has good sound and good video output, sign me up.

"Apple to support SNK Coin-op; New MVS technology
Our sources never lie. We said SNK would continue support for their aging Neo-Geo system, and this
recent announcement is proof. SNK has found a way to generate modern graphics using their current MVS system (we're talking Gigabits here). Garou:MOTW was the first title to use this new technology, and future titles will employee the same technique. As the games become more graphically advanced, a special board will be released with extra system RAM for better screen resolutions, refresh rates, bigger sprites, animation, and stereo quality sound. A CPU will also be included on this special board to prevent slowdown and to lesson the Neo-Geo's burden when processing this new technology.

3D effects could be possible using this new hardware, but nothing has been confirmed yet. There is one thing for certain: this new technology will not replace the current 16-bit Neo-Geo MVS system.

President Allen Weisberg of Apple Photo Systems said in a recent industry announcement, "SNK has showed us the next year's video game lineup and it looks pretty strong," he announced. "Their R&D team in Japan plans to expand the 16-bit system to give it more memory and the capability to perform functions." We'll keep you posted on future developments.

Please contact Tim Jackson for further inquires (310/782-3826, fax -9481)

That is what I call good news!! Hope that this is not some bullshit talk/rumor!

This was also published on Replay's web site last year (about the same time we published it).
