I agree, but with only two games, there really isn't much to cover. Still, I would like to hear more about The Crystal of Kings!

Unless there's big surprises ahead...

It's the Hyper Neo-Geo 64 all over again...

...except the HNG64 was more successful! :(

I would love to see garou 2 on the crystal system. I think its bs that they say its too expensive to develop for it. I think they're just lazy.

While I have yet to play either of the two games for the Crystal System, I plan on buying the sys w. Cart thingy from Neo Store for that bad azz looking Golden Axe style game... though I feel this hardware's main drawback is that it's not compatible with the existing MVS/AES system :(

Who said it is to expensive to develop for the Crystal System? Choi Chil-Seo from Eolith was asked by Arcadia magazine if they have interests in other Hardware. He only answered that the NAOMI System is to expensive, other Systems were left unmentioned. The major goal of the CS is the cost reduction. Therefore the design is a SOC (system on a chip). The CS is very cost effective, but unfortunately not very spread.

Evolution Soccer just came out, I don't call that DOA...

This isn't a console people, it isn't gonna get 15 games at launch, and 4 a month.

I have played CoK but I haven't beaten it yet and I don't like to review games I haven't beaten yet. I wouldn't ever expect a real review of this game either as I doubt I will ever play it again, let alone beat it. The graphics are pretty crappy pre-rendered shit, the sound effects are nothing to write home about, and the game has more bugs than any other commercial arcade release in recent memory. Sengoku 3 is a better brawler, and CoK isn't even in the same league as D&D2 or any of the KoV games. I don't see why so many people are excited about the crystal system. I haven't seen evo soccer yet, but if CoK is the best they can pull off for a launch title, everyone should stay away from this stinker.

It was said the first 2 games were not using even 50% of the system! Moreover, have you ever seen a new system with any games using it at max capability? <img src="graemlins/shame.gif" border="0" alt="[Shame]" />
The crystal system is a better hardware than the MVS so why couldn't they release any great games?
And don't forget brezza got many of snk's employes!
What is strange is that they are so few games for this system :(
Seems to be not a good sign .
I hope to see any good games on this system!

I would say the two games did by far not show the power of the CS. For eg. the CS supports higher resolutions than shown in the two available games. You really can't compare the CS with the MVS, the CS is far more powerfull than the MVS.

Power is fine, but without good games it means nothing. Now that I've got a cabinet I've been thinking about getting the crystal system, but unless there are some good games coming out for it, there's no reason to own it. Sure it's more powerful than the MVS, but which one would you really rather own?

What ever happened to that plan to upgrade the old MVS games with new hardware? I know they did the Giga upgrade but this new upgrade was supposed to allow for better resolution, color, and framerate. Did they give up on this idea? It may have been turned into the Crystal System when they figured out it would be too hard and expensive to do. I guess we will never know.

When they start making good games for it, it will be a widespread system. Theres no reason to buy it at this point.
