hum....
looks strange...
Could be a good idea but...
Everybody are looking for news that are news! Not convreted games with old backgrounds...
It seems that playmore is planning to use what was done by SNK as much as possible before begining to really create new stuff with the snk's licenses!

Looks like crap!
Looks like Playmore ran out of ideas and recycles old material to show that they also own the copyright for this BGs.
KoF95 BGs...SS2 BGs...man what's next? WorldHeroes meets KoF2k3? Hell no!
After everybody thought 2K1's backgrounds were crap, maybe they realized that they could not do any better and so put some old stuff in the game...
They could've redrawn the BGs atleast to fit to the KoF style.
I don't think that this is a good sign....just recycling some stuff, making some money and leaving the business...that's how I think everything is going to end.

And why do they reproduce KoF99 for the PSX? The game is available everywhere for less then 10 bucks...why would anyone care to buy a minty fresh second-edition KoF99 for the PSX?

It is like a present to the Dreamcast Users. Would it be better to include only the original 00 backgrounds?

To your KOF99 question, maybe the regular release was so successfull that it is high probably that a rerelease would be profitable?

Why do you think they are leaving business? Just because they use old backgrounds in a console port? Come on how many companies are just doing 1:1 arcade -> console ports. The KOF 00 backgrounds are just an additional feature.

i have a problem with people that
endlessly complain about what they re doing wrong.
what do you expect.
its a two year old game.
and its coming out for a dead system.
if you dont like the outcome dont bitch about it.
nobody cares.

I don't think that a 1:1 port would be better but I personally think that they could've put some more effort in modifying the classic-bgs to fit to the KoF2K style.
I don't think they're leaving business...it's a possibility, nothing more.
Of course I hope that they'll support the MVS/AES for a long time with new, good and successful productions, but right now they've just managed to make one port and four re-releases. The rest of the games that were released for the MVS/AES were 3rd-company productions.

rarehero:
You're talking as if I was bashing Playmore in every single topic dealing with them. This is the first time I've ever written something about my view on playmore. It'd be great if they'll make new stuff for the Neo. Ports are also a great way to support the popularity of the system, no doubt!
But if everything a company does is porting and re-releasing...well I don't really know if it is a good sign.
And theres one thing that's even more annoying than bitchin' about a topic and that even less people give a shit about: It's people like you that have nothing else to do than to whine about other people's opinions! Nobody gives a fuck about this either!
If you think that this port is great and that my view is wrong, you could tell me and give reasons and arguments for your opinion instead of posting this useless crap.
I prefer a conversation instead of getting flamed.

o so i m whining now?
i told you to shut the fuck up in nice terms actually.
if you dont like the idea of getting a port of a
2 year old game that they throw in extra stuff
then whatever.
but stop bitching about it.
playmore isnt running out of old ideas.
they re just using their library.
thank you for feeling the need to over analyze my
comments though and writing a one page book report
about it though.

hah

i love it

'porting and rereleasing'

so i guess RotD and MS4 and Snk vs. Cap are all fake then?

i hate when people bitch about EXTRAS aswell, they didnt have to fucking put it in, but it shows they care enoguh to do it.

and i think the extra bg's are pretty damn cool anyhow so :p

As Rarehero said the DC is a dead System. The modifying of the backgrounds would be too expensive for two years old game for a dead system. The MVS games are no 3rd Company games. The developer are all belonging to the NeoGeo Group. It is like SEGA with their teams. Games for PS2 and GBA will high propably come, because they searched for Programmers with experience on that platforms for a while. The SNK NeoGeo Group is SNK only with a other structure than the former company. The programmers are mostly the same, especially at Brezza. The fact that they are working on new hardware should be enough proof that they are taking it serious.

sonic1687:
Well according to your reply you didn't read even half of my posting.
RotD was developed by Noise/Eolith!
Slug4? MegaEnterprise!
SNK vs. Capcom? Unreleased!

Porting and re-releasing...for now! I hope that they'll do a good job in finishing, what SNK has started with SNK vs. Capcom for the MVS.

sha-v:
Well Eolith, MegaEnterprises etc. may be a part of the NeoGeo group, but they're indipendent from Playmore so I'd call them a 3rd party developer.

If they were like ADK or Galapagos I'd recognize my mistake in calling playmore a 'porting and re-releasing' company.

Man can't we just stop this nonsense? It leads to absolutely nothing!
I think Playmore didn't very much besides porting and re-releasing and the new MVS games were released by companies that are a part of the NeoGeo Group, but not a part of Playmore.
I'm really looking forward to see new and good releases for the MVS/AES and if Playmore makes them, it would be absolutely ok.
I just have written about my opinion on the current actions of playmore and my fears for the future of this company...nothing else.

So I'll stop right here with complaining about Playmore and their activities :)

C'mon let's all be friends again <img src="graemlins/multi.gif" border="0" alt="[Multi Color Bouncey]" />

The korean companies are mainly providing money and producer. The developing (programming) part is done by Brezza and Noise.

Mystery you are talking about Playmore like a company that has nothing to do with SNK. Playmore aren't newcomers. That is the (ok, a part) SNK staff. Why do you think has a new founded company got the whole SNK IP and not Aruze? Just look at the KOF2k1 staff list and you will find some well known ex-SNK members :)

sounds okay to me.
but to clarify things SNK is restructured under
playmore
and to tell you the truth if you want my prefered
conversation about the topic i think its good.
the sam sho background doesnt seem to really fit but its
welcome anyways.
if you look at kof 2000 anyways its a tribute to
all of SNK. making ties with all its roots.
all of the "other stikers" were from past SNK games
not neccessarily kof but SNK where ever you look
even the last line you see when you beat the game
is a thank you to everyone who has ever cared enough to play the games.
so yes. the game is a swan song.
leave it at that.
appreciate it if your a fan.
thats who SNK caters too believe it or not.
sincerely,
rare

There's an extra background for the hidden strikers, Billy Kane gets his FF1 background, Nakoruru gets her SS2 one, etc. etc. etc.

Her SSIII background was beautiful but too serene and SSIV didn't have unique character backgrounds so what did you expect? :p

Man I don't know about you but I'm hoping they have a background for Duke Edwards and Rocky, you KNOW you want to slap Zero upside the head with a Power Geyser while in the first level of Robo Army or the boat level on Burning Fight. :D

Alright...guess I'm convinced :)
I thought that Playmore was a company that basically had nothing in common with SNK, just bought all the rights for SNKs games etc.
My mistake :)

I think it's quite cool of them to support the DC..it's a great system that unfortunately had to face an early death.

NeoRasa:
What about adding the LosJ fighting Arena? :D

Mystery: Legend of Success Joe was a licensed game, it'd be like if Sega put Spider-Man into Sonic Shuffle. :p
