The NPI site on noise factory has diary entries every couple of days, and so far they haven't mentioned it... or have they? I got the idea they were going to give some news this week...

I saw this post and it just hit me the right way. It actually made me want to reply!

I agree with what is being said here. It makes perfect sense if we were discussing any other gaming system besides the neogeo. Afterall, with literally dozens of titles released per month on all major consoles...(I believe the current "major" consoles are PS2, XBOX, GCUBE)...the owners of these systems will only purchase games that they have seen and like. They have the ability to be picky.

However, this is not a "major" (or at least modern) gaming console that we are discussing here. Rather it is a niche market which only has 3-4 releases per year. Therefore the owners of this particular console have NO CHOICE but to purchase whatever is thrown their way. Those who choose NOT to purchase a title basically DON'T GET a title! Kind of like voting for the president in the old Union of Soviet Socialist Republic...you either vote for the candidate...or you DO NOT vote for the candidate...EITHER WAY...the candidate becomes president!

Also there is an old saying..."beggers can't be choosers". We have to take whatever we can get...so wether it sucks or not, were pretty much stuck buying it. I suppose that since the developers for this console are aware of this, they don't care wether or not we will be happy MUCH LESS if we have not been able to see any screenshots.

Personally, I too would love to see them "listen" to us and actually make games for us. I am quite sure that 700 megs used to make a neogeo version of castlevania, mega man, super mario brothers, zelda, rygar, ghosts 'n goblins, etc. would absolutely / positively make us salivate. However this has never happened, and most likely never will. I am however still hopefull that at least one of our "DREAMS" will finally be coming true this year with..."Snk versus Capcom"...but then again...where the HELL is the screenshot for this too! Until I start to see them, I will not breathe easy yet. We need PROOF!

When U try and put out capcom and shinobi like games on neo....you get shit like ganryu and top hunter.

Face it no one wants to play those kind of games.....why would they??.....we want art of fighting 4, MOTW 2....Turfmasters2.....World heroes 3

I would LOVE to see a TopHunter 2.But since we are dealing with an arcade machine we will probably only see fighters.

I think you have Billy all wrong.

Either way, Billy, you should be happy there aren't more releases made per year on the neo geo. You wouldn't want to keep up with more than 3~4 per year now, would you?
