As far as i'm aware no offical announcement has been made by Playmore, the only other thing is that Mega Enterprise don't have the rights to Metal Slug 5 so it's quite likely to be developed by someone else.

Which is good, because MS4 is that bad, Mega could probably ruin cereal. :rolleyes:

I heard about that.

They also said that it would be a PS2 exclusive title, wich I don't think so.

I'm completly OK with a Slug in the line of 2/X and 3.

A new Metal Slug in the line of the first chapter would surely not very cool. Look at MS4. totally a rehash of Slug 1. A true dissapointment.

In the line of MS2/X/3 , they can have a larger way to show their creativity.

I think as long as Playmore can dish out Slugs like X and 3, they can make as many as they want and I will keep buying. Anyone burned out of Slug have other games to save up for.

Playmore (in house, old SNK folks) would be the ones making a MS5. That would mean more of a MS3 treatment, than MS4 I would think. That can't be a bad thing. I am betting on a LOT of new sprites, backgrounds and art. They need to make money with the title, and MS4 did ok ( I think), but not great. I would think they want great.

Slug 3 is a masterpiece. If I was to be stuck with any one game from SNK, it would be Slug 3. The detail in Slug 3 to this day, shatters my mind. From the backgrounds, sound effects, the ever changing music to fit the moods, gameplay, weapons, vehicles, etc. is just incredible.

We'll see how Slug 5 goes, but I have a feeling the Slug is coming back in a big way.

Very true!

I paid full price for that baby (about $500) when it was new (yes, I know the price dropped) and I still think it was worth every penny.
