It loosens up a little bit after you use it a few times but there are a few carts where you have use a little 'oomph' to get the cart in (my Windjammers cart for example). If you rock it back and forth a little as you're inserting it it's easier (just don't rock it too much or you'll break something!)

Never noticed on my cab, but my monitor wasn't the best. KOF works like a charm though, and I play more SS3 as it is, and I have that on home cart
