I should restate that. It's by all means not a bad game. The levels are long, but the graphics aren't nearly as good as people say (not that graphics matter truely, it's just that I heard in this instance they were spectacular, which the weren't). I may be missing out on the storyline (there is quite a bit of dialogue... LONG intro). I just didn't find myself completely captivated by it. I hate to say, but if you are going to spend so much on a game, you better enjoy it. There is only one level (out of 5) that has a bad level design, and I believe 2 of the levels are nonlinear. The first couple times you play it, you may be frustrated with the collision detection, and controls (I'll say this now... it's in the manual anyway... if you hold the fire button down too long, your "gun" will overheat, and you won't be able to fire quickly for a short time) but once you figure them out (you have 5 continues, so the second time you play...) you will pretty much be a master. Also, since you play in the 3rd person, space harrier view, you can't really do much to weave the level design into actual gameplay (no tricky jumps... all baddies come from the backround, etc...). Once you master it, each level is the same thing. The design in just there for eye candy. I beat it on my second try playing it, and again on the hardest difficulty after that. It's a decent game... I just don't see why it costs so much.
