SNK vs. Capcom: What's the deal on it's release?

Just wondering if it was still coming to the Neo and who would be developing it.

I haven't heard anything on this lately but it'll probably be the first NG home cart I buy on release day.

A friend of mine has confirmed for me that it is still coming. They are just making it as perfect as possible. I thinkn they realize this title is do or die. If the title dies, the MVS really is out in the arcade world.

What Loopz said. I trust Trieu and a few others who've said it's on it's way so rather than be impatient about hearing anything about it, I'm busy saving up the cashola so I can plunk down for a NGH version on day one.

I've hurd it will be a little more expensive than a regular cart cause they'll add a new chips (?) - is it true.

I can't agree on the fact that the title will be do or die, since the MVS is too old and established to label it is such a way. All of it's older games still make money and cost less. Sort of like saying Yoshi's Island would have killed the SNES is it wasn't good, it came out too late in the system's life span to affect it.

Regardless, who is making the game? Also, if it's Palymore, can they afford the rights to use Capcom characters or is this a collaboration between the companies?

Maybe plamore has already finished the product... but since this is a live or die title they probably want not to see to much piracy around the title... that's why they are maybe delaying the title...

am I the only one here who is not interested in SNK vs Capcom that much. I'm not saying it's a bad idea but I prefer sequels for older games (AoF , SS , FF ...... etc. )

See, to me, I think we have more than enough sequels to older games than we need. SNK vs. Capcom would be something new on the MVS, just as Rage of the Dragons was, regardless of the lukewarm response it received.

I believe the rights were already handled back when SNK was going to do the game and subsquential acquired through the SNK purchase by playmore.

Sadly though Regardless of how good this title is I do not think it is a make or break title for the MVS, either. Best case scenrio is it does as well as Capcom vs SNK. even that title although popular does not pull in the Megabucks of old. Do you think they will also launch new dedicated cabs with this release. I have not seen a new cab since the hyper or the candy type II.

When apple distrubuted KOF2000 the dedicated cab consisted of a Dyanmo 25" with artwork. Did not even look like a Neo Cab.

If playmore makes enough of a profit to stay in business and further support the Neo Geo that will make me extermely happy

I really don't care about any newly released Neo Geo games anymore. Everything after kof 2000 has been pure crap, so I don't really have high hopes for SNK vs Capcom.

I have played them and I don't think they are that great. RotD is pure shit and KOF2002 is the best of the crap, which still isnt that great. I dont know about you guys, but I'm used to playing GREAT games on my Neo Geo, not second rate crap.

Ho can KOF2002 be crap its still usng the same formula as the rest (just like metal slug) i can understand if you don't like it as much but saying its shit is madness.

As for SNK Vs Capcom i think Summer 2003 with KOF2003 follwoing in winter, i think SNK Vs Capcom will be good its just if they put more time into the game and redraw chracters and bring in more SNK characters from World heroes, Last blade and SS. As for the capcom characters i just cannot wait to see which make the cut and see how they look on the Neo hardware.
