OK, here's my last post just as the board imploded last night:

I'm currently brow-beating Apple Systems for a review copy of Sengoku...promised them serious pages, but no response so far. I get the feeling this is going to be a lot like it was at GF: I'll have to spend $600 to cover their games for them =P

Suffice it to say, all new NEO games WILL get covered, even though it'll be out of my own bloody pocket =P Just may have to wait for issue 2, since copies (for sale) may not be available in time.

Which is funny, considering a local arcade now has three copies of Metal Slug 3 running thanks to our glowing coverage in GF...some people just don't get it.

And yes, there's still plenty of time to get your subs in...but there's no time like the present

ECM? From GameFan?

Feels like I'm talking to a celebrity... heh...
biggrin.gif

I haven't been to the local bookstores or video game stores for a LONG time, so I don't know what's been up lately with you and everybody else. But looking at the site, GameGO! sounds very promising.

Neo-Geo game coverage, eh? Nice. Very nice. I'd love to see more of that... I feel like I'm missing out on a few of the newer ones these days. And from your own pocket...? That's very generous of you. Thank you.

Speaking of Metal Slug 3, funny story... we've got MS3 in my college arcade. But something's wrong with it. Unlimited lives for one quarter. It's become so that passing the game is no big event. Heck, even I passed it... =P

Look forward to GameGO!

ECM,
When you get time, I'd like to haggle some extra information on why you think it's so hard to beat Slug 3 in one credit.

Sounds great as Gamefan was really the most hardcore mag there was. I really miss Gamefan as EGM is like a whole big advertisement nowadays. I thought you guys at Gamefan moved to Gamers Republic or something like that.

I thought Gamer's Republic was created by some former employees of GameFan. I still read that one. I consider it to be better than EGM, but that is not saying much.

Count on a subscription from me, ECM!

Hey, I already got my confirmation of subcription for GameGo! Looks like you guys are on top of things
smile.gif
ECM, are you going to put "The Last True Enthusiest Magazine" under the title again? Since, this mag is going to be a little more concentrated on niche and import gaming, can you get away with less main stream games on the cover? I mean...Cannon Spike was sick, but you know you wanted to see Marco and Tarma Gunz a' Blaze'N on top of a Slug!!! LOL. Thanks.

Ukyo,

Actually, we haven't decided on a tagline yet.

As far as Cannon Spike goes that wasn't very mainstream--pretty damn far from it

Hmmm, Sengoku on the cover...

Was the 1st issue of GameGo out already? If yes, I can't seem to find it.

GameGo has looked awesome ever since you first said something about it around a month ago ECM. I subscribed this past weekend. I am very much looking forward to reading the first issue.

Ane a quick message to everyone: The best way to get this magazine off the ground is to subscribe. If they can get enough people to subscribe they would be able to make the mag monthly... *drool* hehhehe...

SWEET ! I hope the mag turns out to be really cool. I've got a lot of faith in it, as I was always a HUGE fan of Gamefan. It sucked when the last issue of Gamefan came out with no warning. It also sucked because it was one of the few times I ever got peeved at one of your reviews(Shenmue), but hey, the fact that you're closer in gameing tastes to me than ANY other game reviewer ever was certainly reason enough to subscribe. I've also been playing Neo with a 6-slot MVS hooked up to Shou-Sama's old Super Nova system. I'm REALLY looking forward to careing about a game mag again.
You rule ECM ! Please keep it up. It certainly didn't hurt that I first found out about it in this board either.
Later.

One question: Besides you, the 6th Man, and Posty, who else can we expect to come back? Or have some of them simply taken different pen names?

Hopefully, the pages will be full of game art. During my pre-internet days, GameFan was my only good source of fine game art. Even after I got back online, actually. That was my favorite part of the magazine.

That, and the personality everyone showed in the articles, but it sounds like you took care of that already.
biggrin.gif

Sounds good. Can't wait to read the first issue.

Yes, there will be game art.

Yes, it'll be at EB.

As for advertisers, we're not privy to say who's who but there will be ads

ECM:
Can we subscribe multiple times? I just want to make sure because a few of my friends want the mag but seem to be unwilling to go on the internet and buy it. Als ois the first issue going to be a wide release on newstands? and on an off note, what action figures are you looking for that were swiped? I/we may be able to help you out a little.
