And it seems its confirmed too.

Check the news of the 12/25, its there. Maybe a Jap reading person might translate exactly what it says (altavista translation sucks). But I`ve been told by a Japanese reading person that it does say that KOF2k2 has been confirmed for a Dreamcast release.

I hope the port is better than 2K1 is all, as this will probably be the last game released for the DC.

The DC came out in Japan in late November of '98.
Four years, dude. And counting, apparently...

Sounds like good stuff to me, but I'll wait for such news to appear on Playmore's site before I believe anything. Nonetheless, here's hoping they add some extra features to the port, such as:

-characters not playable in KOF 2K2 (King, Shingo, and Jhun would all be welcome additions)
-an art gallery (featuring original artwork NOT done by Nona)
-a hidden background (or two)
-footage of various openings/endings from various KOFs
-arranged music

...and more.

Edit: Looks like it's official.

I said the same thing... about KOF 2000. Hearing mention of 2001 was shocking enough! You have to admire the DC love.

Hell, I was so happy, I sent a thank-you email to them, along with a few suggestions!

Sweet Jebus, I'm going to have 3 versions of this KOF too!

Wow, thats cool.
I hope they don't do a sloppy port this time round.I want it to be as close to the arcade version as possible.I do not want to see any slowdown or the removal of certain moves.I know the DC can do it!
Now the question is, "Are the programmers at playmore listening?"

Answer: Probably not (as evident by just about every KOF port for the DC). Here's hoping they add a ton of features to the DC port (like the ones I mentioned above).

If those additions were in KOF 2K2 I would not hesitate for a moment to buy it. But that is just because KOF 2K2 is already an awesome game. With those additions it would be almost perfect!

The only thing that is really atracting me to buy the other new KOF games on DC (2K & 2K1) are the bonus games. I hope they also throw a new puzzle game in 2K2.

If I had more money I would buy a DC just for all the ports that exist on the system. It's a fighting game fan system of choice.

Will the DreamCast ever die? See, I think people are right, the DC is destined to be the next Neo Geo.

That's sweeet! I wish Playmore started to make games on the Game Cube aswell. I think seeing KOF games on an 8cm disc would look cool! :D
