I was just talking to my friend about the gaming industry and what-not, and he told me that there was a ner Neo coming out! Has anyone else heard anything about this?
Is it true? I heard SNK's making a new system!!

I'd be very impressed if SNK did make a new system... especially seeing as SNK don't exist anymore.

I heard a rumor that Sega and SNK were making a new system. I heard this rumor about 6 months ago. But naturally I remember being told by the same guy that the Dreamcast could play PSX games on its own without a converter and that Sony would sue them. This all seems to be the same crap that you hear from game stores. Where they get all this crap I will never know.

Even a powerful system isnt going to save a company, as the 64 attests. Too little, too late. Was a nice try, though. Least the bread and butter operation of the main Neo Geo kept things going quite a while.
The home market has to compete with the internet and and computer games. aNot so good a battle. Dreamcast, vERY powerful hardware and it fell over like a lead balloon.
Any system and design needs to meet certain objectives. Been designing up a small arcade controller for my purposes, to get back into design. By today's standards, it would get laughed at, but it will do as I want. 8 bit 6502 with 32K ram, 32k rom and 42 input/output ports. Nicest beauty is that the design is down to 8 absolutely common chips you can still find anywhere. Whole thing fits on a 3 by 5 board size. Planned usages include pinball machines, redemption game design, robotics and haunted house controls. Now, to find time to finish the layout

Ah ha! All right you doubtful bitches!! I just got off the phone with the guy, and he corrected himself! He said they're coming out with an MVS 2. And when I say "SNK", I don't mean them literally... I mean Neo, in general. Geez! You sluts hurt the hell outta my feelings! (Never ask YOU jerks a question again.... *grumble grumble*)

I have no illusions... Playmore is not releasing a new system of any stand alone kind, nor an upgrade to MVS. Sure I'D KILL FOR MVS II! But in all reality this is just another piece of wishfull thinking on the part of someone who loves their NEO and would like to see the NEO back up in the lime light. I for one will not hold my breath... been burned too many times... and I've seen far to many "My friend in the Know says... Blah Blah Blah." to take anything like this even remotely serious.

Well if I do remember correctly, a certain member of these boards who has reliable connections to Playmore did mention in chat that they were going to release a new system in the coming year or so....

Heh, I'd be happy if SNK/Playmore started reproducing the NGH console. Think about it - the technology is so cheap nowadays, if they could mass produce it it could probably be availible for 100 - 150$. It would be awesome. Maybe a new system shell to...all wishful thinking
