I've heard about it a few times, and I even searched for it, but to no avail :(

Are they or aren't they re-releasing the AES?

<Rev330mega> Yes it's true!
<Rev330mega> In fact they are re-releasing them at the low low price of $100 each so Shawn can buy them all up and raise the price to $1,000 yet again!

I don't think so, and I have not heard of sutch a thing. New MVS boards were being made ( I say this as I dought they will continue with this if SNK vs Capcom is on a new board)

This is just the rumor and news section, and I've read here and there about a possible re-release. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I sent them an e-mail a year ago and asked them the same question, the answer was 'no'.

I guess all the excitement of SVC has some people making crazy assertations. I'm hopeful though.

I think it would be a really cool idea for playmore to re-release the AES console. I would definitely purchase one if it had factory stereo and s-video.

Maybe have Majesco release it for them and shink it down so its even smaller. And release it in multiple colors with translucent shells.

Edit: Ohhhh and add on some colorful stickers with everyones favorite KOF players on them. Like the Pokemon N64's. Maybe add in a couple Kyo or Iori dolls with switchable outfits.

soon I'll be faced with 325 dollars for SVC AES or MVS. I'd much rather have the AES because it'll more than likely hold its value over the next few years, while the MVS will be worth considerably less, especially if there is many in circulation.

It'll go with my faggoty colored N64, George Foreman Grill, and iMac perfectly!!

P.S.- I don't actually own any of those items.

Hey, they could re-release a bunch of games too, complete with dog-tags and paper boxes with no instructions!

YAY!

I forgot all about the Dog Tagging.

Make sure to have "The Worlds ONLY 24bit Gaming POWERHOUSE!!" on the box. That will help sell it.

I think they should release something like the Sega Nomad. Plays AES carts, only its a portable. Only they could make the screen a little bigger.

Anyways, I don't think they'll be releasing or rereleasing any hardware, as Ben Herman pointed out they were going for strictly software in his interview with Insert Credit at E3.

LOL I think not...the carts already outweigh the aes system. Could you imagine the size of that handheld. Plus for ANY company to release a handheld in the US/JPN or any market for that matter it has to be cheap. And cheap is not the word when it comes to the NEO.

BTW...there aint nothing wrong with having your crap match. I made sure to buy seperate matching Platinum controllers and a Platinum GB Player (yes it exists...its the jpn version) for my GC just so i could have that sexiness. In fact all my systems are color coordinated along with their accessories. I wont even buy third party accessories. Maybe im a little bit obsessive compulsive. hmmm? oh_no

I think they should release a portable version - like the PC Engine LT or GT glee

How about a CD ROM drive that bolts to the underside, and an upgrade peripheral like the Sega 32X?

Awesome!!

I think Mugenmore should put out a SNK/NeoGeo greatest hits disc for the XBox. Since they like to use stuff thats already be done, and claim it as their own, they shouldn't have a problem with this.

Ohhhh wait...I can already do that with Mame and a DVD burner.

Or an Xbox with a large hard drive... wink
Currently a total of 3 Neo games not working.

Decided to keep Matrimelee though. The values have fallen off since I bought it. I figure maybe in a couple years it'll rise again.

In all honesty, I don't know why a company with such a rich history wouldn't release a "Classics" pack or something like that. It would get my money, just to support it.

I've tried supporting every domestic SNK release on the "mainstream" systems, but $300 or so each for the Neo carts is hard to do.

Oh wait, we were talking about re-releasing the AES system. I think it'd be a cool thing to do. Especially if they didn't wind up over $400 each.

A portable that played aes carts would be the most portable system around. what about a neo geo CD with a faster CD drive and larger cashe to cut the load times down to nothing. I think that would be cool. I've never tried it, but I've heard neo CD emulators load infinitly faster than the actual console.

ok I have a theory about this and what Ben Herman said in an interview also raises my eybrows
they will continue to support the Neo-Geo home system
well the truth is if they want to still support the Home system they will eventually have to make more systems [these machines are getting older and older]or stop makine Carts for the system

think about it

You forgot the part where he bans anyone that is also selling it.

I like your Sega Nomad idea for Neo Geo. The only problem is I think the cart might actually end up weighing MORE than the system! If they tried to make the system heavier to displace this weight, somehow, it would probably be about as heavy as an XBOX.

Cool idea, though.

HAH HAH HAH! Talk about alot of stress being put on the contacts. The first time the Portable system is2-3 times smaller than the cart itself. Can you imagine the responses.

"My parents bought me a NGPHCS (NEO GEO PORTABLE HOME CART SYSTEM) but they couldn't afford to get me a game crying !
