UK Neo Geo meet up - date and details!

If you didn't see the other thread (lets have an england tournament), we are trying to have a get together of Neo Geo fans from the UK. It seems like a tournament idea wouldn't really work for a lot of reasons, but this will really just be a meet up, where a load of us can have a few drinks, play in the local arcades (even though there's a lack of Neo Geo stuff <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0"> ) and just generally have some fun.

The date of this meet up is going to be August 4th, and it will be in Leicester. So far we only have a few people who say they are definitely coming down, and for this thing to work and be fun, we need more people! <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> If you live in the UK and want to come down, please head on over to my site and get more details - then email me so that I can start to build a list of people that will be coming.

I am thinking of flying in. If I do would somebody pick me up at Gatwick or Heathrow. I am not sure yet though. I'll make sure for certain if I will in the near future.

Hi guys/gals, i have been to telegames, how far is it from there, i hate travelling to new areas but a challenge is a challenge... on what games though.
Since i live in wolverhampton/birmingham i will be likely to come on the train, so where abouts will it be held dudes.

stephen - If you caught the train down, it would only be a 5 minute walk into the place we'll probably end up meeting at the city centre (maybe at the clock tower or something? <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> ). I doubt You'll get lost because the clock tower is VERY easy to find.

Sorry guys (and gals) it looks like we just aren't gonna be able to do this thing now. I've sent out emails to all the people that were interested in coming down, but only a few have replied... unfortunately most of them are unable to come now due to various reasons (which is fair enough). If only a hadnful of people are going to be there, I don't think many people would want to travel all the way down here just to have a few drinks in a bar (especially if they have to pay to stay at a B&B overnight or whatever)... so it looks like its gonna be cancelled.

I guess the best thing to do would be to postpone it, and then set a date which leaves us with MUCH more time to organise stuff and get all the details for people who need to travel down (details on places to stay and train times etc). In hindsight we probably should have got this all sorted out before we set a date - but I guess you live and learn.

Sorry to everyone who was really interested in coming down, and for the people that had to cancel - its ok, I understand <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> I'm still sure that with a little more planning, this thing could be great fun. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Once again, I'm really sorry for this... I hope this doesn't annoy anybody too much <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">
