Really seems so.

I edited with a bit of photoshop a pic of the official Rokete poster, and the boss trio darkened in the background clarely revealed the face of a guy looking like Nobunaga.

The first revealed boss, that girlish guy looking a bit like Hibiki from Gekka, may really be Ranmaru. And the blue monster second boss another of Nobunaga mythical serveant (can't recall his name).

Also, a Nobunaga appearance would fit quite well with the new starring being of the Tokugawa family.

If someone could host for me me edited pic I was referring to, I may send it to anyone anytime. :)

Nobunaga was one of the first warlords to attempt to unify medieval Japan. At that time there was still an Emperor, but the Emperor lacked the military power to be any sort of actual authority, and was more or less a figurehead like Queen Elizabeth.

Nobunaga died trying to bring the country under his heel; he was assasinated before he could finish the job. His successor, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, did succeed in becoming the sole ruler of Nippon, but after he passed away (of natural causes) there was another power struggle between his supporters.

The winner of that was Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of Japan.

1500's to 1599
Warring States

1600 to 18??
Tokugawa Shogunate
also know as the Edo period

late 1700's
Samurai Spirits series

The last years of the Edo around 186?, were known as the Bakumatsu... this is the setting for Gekka No Kenshi/ Last Blade series

late 1800's
Meiji Restoration
The Shogunate is overthrown, samurai are disbanded (hence the title Last Blade) and Japan attempts to become more Westernized

If any of my facts/ dates are incorrect it's because I'm drunk and too lazy to do any research... but you get the general idea anyway.
For an excellent dramatization of the end of the Warring States/ start of the Tokugawa Shogunate, and a damn fine read, check out James Clavell's 'Shogun'. It's 600 pages of sheer swash-buckling, geisha-banging, empire-building ownage.

Thank you for the info. Is this officially Confirmed by any sources?

Anyway, if he's not Ranmaru, I guess maybe the final boss isn't Nobunaga either...

Well, we'll see anyway. :)
