"We are announcing a short delay regarding the Strikers 1945 release date of June 29/01. This date will now be on or before July 27/01, the following is the reasoning for the delay. The production of this project's timing was underestimated, things like "round cornering" steel rule dies and "board capabilities" while considered were certainly not given their full respect. While now in the advanced stages of production, the quality at which this release must meet cannot and will not be comprimised, right down to the custom made bags for the manual.

For those of you who have pre-ordered this release, we will be upgrading your purchase to a special "22K-Gold Foil" package. You will be receiving private mail shortly regarding this matter.

Thank you for your time."

Does the auction count as a pre-order or only pre-orders before today?

Thanks,
James

Now this is rich and funny. They wait until the day of to announce a delay. Assuming that there is one, why not mention it upon knowing that there would be a delay. It's not like they woke up today and said, "hmm I think there is a shortage today, let's tell the people that preordered Strikers 1945 from us". I guess it's a good thing I didn't preorder because it would be tormenting me if I had to keep waiting after delay after delay.

I feel bad for the ones that preordered. Hope you guys get them soon <IMG SRC="smilies/ohno.gif" border="0">

Lets fix this one up a bit.

-----------------------------

"We are announcing a short(not really short, since we have still yet to deliver.) delay regarding the Strikers 1945 release date of June 29/01. This date will now be on or before July 27/01,(actaully we rather not even deliver it) the following is the reasoning for the delay. The production of this project's timing was underestimated,( of course) things like "round cornering" (yeah like making a correct U turn to deliver the damn things)steel rule dies and "board capabilities" while considered were certainly not given their full respect.(Hell we rather not even do so, considering the game is more at release then just about any SNK official cart released) While now in the advanced stages of production, the quality at which this release must meet cannot and will not be comprimised,(yeaaaaaahhh right) right down to the custom made bags for the manual. (ziploc, can't beat em, bitches)

For those of you who have pre-ordered this release,( all 20 of you) we will be upgrading your purchase to a special "22K-Gold Foil (since by the time it release it will be Y22K)" package. You will be receiving private mail shortly regarding this matter.

Thank you for your time."

What is the deal here? Strikers is supposed to be available to ship on July 30. Is there another problem here? Does anyone know? <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0">

Regarding the above:

I think it's about time we addressed some of the issues/concerns some of you might have especially after the fiasco that went on in the neo-geo.com chat room. In particular with "The only Offical SNK Distributors".

Being the "Official SNK/USA Distributors, they might want to find out what Canadian company is currently negotiating with Eolith Co. Ltd. for the rights to bring out the KOF 2001 Home Cart.

---------------------

The Strikers 1945 release is almost finished and the photos prove that. The only stages left are the foiling, numbering and the binding of the manual which will be completed tomorrow (Sunday). Shipping was to take place on Monday but we have deceided to add one more thing before we ship.

To prevent any tampering with our boards we are going to put the second board back through production increasing it from a 4 layer to a 6 layer. All vital traces will be moved to the center layers, insuring that the self proclaimed "Zen Master" or any other "Neo Wizards" will find it impossible to re-work.

We will still be shipping this coming week only at the end instead of the start.

We have taken the liberty of asking Shawn to post a few photos of the finished product as well as where each stage is produced within our plant. http://www.neostore.com/store/strikers/strikers-r/strikers1.html

This will most certainly protect the investment of all concerned with this project knowing that the number produced will not magically increase down the road.

I just want to say to those asking why it's delayed, "What's your hurry?"

I've been waiting weeks for mine and I figure a few days more isn't going to hurt me and it certainly will only help me if they're improving it during the delay.

Thanks to Arcade, I can play this on my home system since until I move, I won't have room for a cab. I look forward to your next cart!

Now that is interesting.
Any chance you can explain to us "non-techie" fans the reason for this?
Im not sure I understand at all.
After all, I can see people converting a mvs to home, but why would anyone wish to open one of these?

By the way guys, These pics scream volumes.
That's something very hard to deny, if you have any knowledge of professional graphic arts.
I'm impressed, & from what I can see, Thats a quality operation.

Im not sure I understand at all.

PCBs, including PC motherboards, consist of multiple "layers" that are sandwiched together. Traces that aren't readily visible can be hidden under these layers. More complex board designs consist of greater numbers of layers. By moving "vital traces" towards the innermost layers, it will become more difficult for someone like Dion or Chris to rip off Arcade's proprietary trace layout. Think of it as adding an obfuscation layer. I tried finding a web page that could explain this better, but all I could come up with were sites for places offering PCB design programs.

I understand the type of professional work I'm seeing here. This and the multiple layers on the 2nd board means people like Dion, Chris Ray & any HK Bootleggers will not be able to bootleg this board easy at all.

Also the numbering of the carts will now null and void any chances of this game magically going up in numbers unless !Arcade! states a 2nd print run.

I couldn't be any more impressed. Good Work !Arcade! <IMG SRC="smilies/smirk.gif" border="0">

I wouldn't be surprised if Chris and Dion to to buy a few of these carts themselves. They'll simply slap on their inserts and stickers and sell them unsuspecting "collectors" at their inflated price (last time I checked they're asking $1099 for their version).

I personally can't wait. I know from experience that you guys do good work (new cart slots, debug). Ignore the people harassing you. Some will complain even if there's nothing to complain about.
