Here's an interesting possibility... looking at <a href="http://home1.gte.net/web22jt8/2453.jpg" target="_blank">2453</a> reminded me of the earlier games. Do you think that the new character there (the old man) could be the same old man that was in this background in the previous games watching Nakoruru fight?

Damn this game looks hotter than SvC to me.

Lots of returning characters, with improved graphics look (all have been re-coloured for the better). Two of them (at least) being totally redrawn (the Ruru sisters).

8 new chara (and thus sprites) AT LEAST, all awesome, perfectly fitting the old cast, with total consistency.

3 new bosses (presumably)

secret chara? My guesses are Shiki and Earthquake

damn... this IS Samurai Spirits 5... this IS continuing a series line-up after a 7 years break!

Like a gift from god.

2003 will be enscribed as a great year for the NeoGeo fanbase and community.

That's for sure.

It's true though. This game looks like Im playing 7 year old SS games. Not a bad thing, but silly that this is the best they could come up with after 7 years.

I realize every fighter needs a good freak for character balance, but at least Gen-An and Earthquake seemed to fit in, this guy just seems out of place.

I just wish they could have redrawn everything. The effort is appreciated, but I want more. Especially when every neo game is 1000 dollars.

Anyways, that arm bone is a REALLY beauty touch. almost disturbing. But They should make him more bloody.

Wow. I was moderately excited by the announcement of SS5, but seeing these shots has upped the ante substantially for me.

LOTS of new sprites! Haoh looks about the same, but dark Haoh looks VERY cool.

Very excited! I hope it animates as well or better than SS3, did. That was true artistry.
