Yes but the characters for SS0 almost look SD kind of. Maybe its just the size of the pics but they still don't appear to have normal proportions.

the action pose/perspectives are exaggerated. re: look at the character page for SVC chaos.

Personally I'm all for change.
If they decide to make things 'cutesy', well at least all the people demanding redrawn sprites will get their wish.
Though I suppose they will still complain. loco

The thing that's making the silhouettes look so strange (and making the 3rd one so difficult to identify with any certainty) is the exaggerated foreshortening each image seems to use, with each character appearing to leap out, weapon first, at the viewer. The foreshortening had me wondering if the SVC Chaos artist (Nona, was it?) might be handling the illustrations for SamSpiZero, too. If that's the case, I hope we get new illustrations of Earthquake, Shiki, and Genjuro, rather than simply recycling their SVC illustrations.

One thing I do like, though, is that the silhouettes' poses appear to be attack techniques (Haohmaru's looks like his Resshinzan, while Nakoruru's could be either her Annu Mutsube or Rera Mutsube) -- reminds me of the official (cel-style) illustrations for Street Fighter II' Turbo.

The new one is nak, obviously you can tell by the birds wings.

Nah! just because they are pulling weird gutsy poses don't mean the art will be cartooney. They might be the most realistic anime looking yet. The detail might be uncanny, trust me, sillouettes reveal very little.

would it really matter how they look in the artwork?
compare Earthquake art for SVC vs actual Earthquake sprite.

Yeah - artwork on SNK games is at best a very loose indication of how the in-game graphics will look. Relax, people!

When's the loke test for this game in Japan? I'm getting tired of these "shadow" images. :p

When will these stupid bastards just show us pictures of them?
This silhouette crap is so childish.

I bet that second one is Nakoruru.

Hahah there just gonna reveal chars we've already seen, and "surprise" us more with the OLD ss4 sprites.
And like rasa said about KOF, they are gonna have new standing frames.
OMG THEY'VE CHANGED1111111111111111

Well, I hope to god they use the pallets from SS3. That game had the most wonderful visuals and all the sprites were so perfect.

In SS4...I dont know what they were doing, but all those pastels/brighter colours do not belong in a fighter of this nature (DEATH-MUAHAHA). Looked horrible.

Lets hope they can expand on ss3. We wont get the insane damage levels, Im sure (most people didnt like it), but maybe they will keep it less of an artifical combo game.

SS3 was more of a thinking fighter. And that is why I married it in a ceremony.

SS3 is the best sword based game ever made IMO.
SS4 was a pile of shit, cause of the CD combo garbage.
The BG's couldnt hold a candle to 3's either.
I am proud to own a HC of three, and I'd play it before 4 any day of the week.

I got very good at 4 with Ukyo. After I beat a grip of people in a row, probably on multiple occasions at this mini cade at my collage,.. I got sick of that game.
I love the cover of the CD though.. IMO 4 would have been much better had they toned down the ss3 swap cheese and made that the combo system.

3 was decent, but 2 was the shit, too bad 3's precious push throw is in it, I'd much prefer a regular throw a la ss2. But we shall see.

SS2 gave you NOTHING for free.
