What is this for? Brezzasoft? Aren't they the ones that were going to make KOF?

It's a speciality MVS cart... kind of an odd one. I was thinking about picking it up, but wanted to see it in action.

i thought this was an MVS game. It isn't actually used in real slot cabinets to pay off in real money, is it?

yes, V-Liner is an actual MVS game. No mod needed. It's not distributed or manufactured by SNK, so there will not be a marquee for it nor will there be serial numbers on the cart. The cart had some type of weird extension or input on it, when I last saw it too, which I didn't know what it was for. Maybe Jeff can clear that up for us.

Correct - works fine on an MVS cabinet - you just need to wire up the special connector though.

Works on the home system too - via the Phantom 1 converter

I'm still a little gray on the actual purpose of this game. Am I to understand that this is a slot machine simulator (fairly obvious) that is just for the "fun" of it but without the possibility of any winnings? You pay your quarter (or X yen) get "Y" number of gambling credits and play for points or something? Just curious if that is the fun part.

Jeff, thanks for posting the pics as I was curious about this as well. I am just confused as to the point and or motivation to play the game.

Okay, this is all fine and dandy,

-but where would a person get one?
...if they were so impulsively inclined?

You can get one in Hong Kong for about $200. I think I will pass right now I know Cosmic and other companies have them.

Ryo,

this game was mainly made for the asian market, since that area is known more for gambling type games. i agree, not much fun when all you win is more credits. a true collector's piece.

I have heard of establishments in the U.S. that got shutdown because they were casinos using these slot machine type games. Even though the actual games wouldn't pay people out the business owners would pay the people out for any credits they had when they got done playing. I remember back a couple of years ago a couple of hole in the wall businesses got busted big time for doing an operation like this.

One of the features of the connector on the cart is the "coin hopper" I'm not a gambling person, but isn't that what a hopper does -- gives out coins?

You can get this from Cosmico.

The game has a connector for a coin dispenser from what ive heard, so it probably can be used for real gambling.

Yep. Slot machines operating without a gambling liscence is done by many people. Here in Chicago it's mainly done by the mob.

Panchi-slo slots are legal for amusement... gambling rights are a legal mess.

Thanks for all the pics and information.
