Got my modded Neo back from !Arcade! this morning, as well as the modified 2nd generation Saturn Pad. All the work looks really nice and clean...the Saturn pad looks beautiful, they removed the original cord and replaced it with a new longer cord, with the 15 pin neo connection at the end. (Fits in nice and snug). The button config works out great also.(A=A, X=B, Y=C, Z=D, Start=Start, L&R=Select)Keeps the original button "arch" of the MVS and Home stick which is really cool. The D-pad is very responsive.(The same as if you were playing any fighter on your saturn) Just wanted to let everyone know that the transaction went very smooth, and I highly recommend them.>>>

I had a Sega Genesis 6-button pad modified by MAS Systems about 6 years ago. I opened it up because I was curious and saw that it was really simple. Note, I said "simple", not "easy." They removed the chip so that the control pad board was bare and soldered a 15-pin cable to it, one wire to the desired solder point. Each point very close to the next one. Looking at it, it was just a "solder this to that" job, but the precision needed is why I don't call it eassy.
My layout was like this...
ABC on the Genesis remained ABC
XYZ became BCD
START remained START and MODE was SELECT.
I haven't tried many other thumbpads, but it seems that the Sega ones have the best feel.
It is worth it though.
Now does anyone know how to add rapid fire and slow motion to the NEO-GEO pad?
