GBA w/ backlight showing Advanced Wars. I remember this from earier topic--I think Mouse Master? started it. I hope they actually release this stuff. I play GBA very rarely, because of poor visuals.

That looks wicked - maybe I can finally throw away the crappy light I bought (although it does an ok job for now). I just wonder how much extra it will drain the batteries down though?

David: to use your own avatar you'll probably need to send a gif to Shawn... make sure that it is 64x64 and he'll up it for you

You can expect about 10 hours of gameplay with the mod. Normally you get about 20 hours. But 10 is pretty good considering you can actually see what's going on on the screen for a change

yeah it needs a switch like the Lynx had to turn the backlight on and off... that would be easy enough to do by wiring a switch into the wire that is going to the light.... then a nice little on and off toggle switch on the top or back of the unit where ever there is space... could be very nice.... FYI though, Nintendo has said they were releasing a GBA with backlight sometime in 2002... atleast that was the story at E3....

I'm not trying to be an ass or anything, but according to the portablemonopoly site, the light is actually a "front light", because the LCD is reflective.

It is very cool. I am on their mailing list and I received the new update today. Apparently the kit is very close to release.
