Help KoF 99 E

Hey,

Im having a dilema here for quite a while... If you do KoF 99 Evolution 1player vs computer, you pick 2characters, so you can chose 1 for a certain enemy... Well when I fight the computer they often take there buddy to do a special move on me... Heres my question: How can I let my buddy do a special move on the enemy? Btw im talking about the PSX version of KoF 99 Evolution.
