I read at website in my country write
"today the korean site Chosun Game affirms that the company is
rollback, with the name of SNK NEO GEO. A strong organization of the
sector of electronic entertainment in Korea would have acquired all
the licenses of the insolvent debtor producing and contracted its
former-employees.

The site says that SNK NEO GEO goes to announce to the public its
business-oriented strategies of market and plans in January of 2002.
Let us wait."

Yeah Cleber , I've read the same in a Spanish page. I've read even more info: The Korean company who has bought all the SNK licenses is called "PLAYMORE", but it will change its name to "SNK NEO GEO" in 2002. This company has a contract with Mega Enterprise (the company who is developing Metal Slug 4) to create a new company called "SNK NEO GEO KOREA". The president of this new company will be Sang Min Lee, and he has declared that Neo emulators, pirate cartriges and dumped ROMs will be hardly prosecuted in this new Neo Era.

hopefully SNK will get some of its talent back and develop some games for the X-Box and GC - games to bring in a bunch of revenue.

I like Metal Slug and 2D fighters as much as the next guy but they can't keep releasing them forever. They can't AFFORD to.

Dude, I hope they mean that that dumpers will be prosecuted "harshly." If they're "hardly prosecuted" then few will be prosecuted. <IMG SRC="smilies/loco.gif" border="0"> But since I'm understand Engrish, I'll assume that they meant what I thought.

I certainly hope, but most of all damn well know that SNK, or the legacy of NeoGeo is not dead, they made some nice ass games, and you know, some bad ones too, but mainly nice ones. <IMG SRC="smilies/veryangry.gif" border="0">
