For those lucky enough to live in Southern California, all future Neo Geo MVS releases will be first introduced at Southern Hills Golfland, which is located in Orange County, off the 22 Freeway (exit is Beach Blvd). I will get the directions to there later for those interested.

Today, Metal Slug 4 will be put up for testing. In about a month or so, Rage of the Dragons.

To give the locals an overview of Southern Hills Golfland, this arcade remains one of the top spots for competitive gaming, meaning hosting tournaments and having the tops players in the country for games such as King of Fighters, all the Capcom fighters, MvC2, CvS2, etc.

There are two 6 slot NEOGEO MVS cabs, 1 dedicated KOF 2001 cab, many Capcom cabs and tons of other great games. If you're in the mood to take some stress off, head to Southern Hills Golfland and test your skills against MANY great players.

Back to the topic though, from here on out, new NEOGEO MVS games will be shown here first, most likely before any other arcade in the U.S.

For quick information to it's location, call 411 for Southern Hills Golfland in Stanton.

Enjoy Southern Cal. residents.

wow, I can't wait to go and check it out. Too bad it's about 3 hours away. I guess I'm lucky that it's even THAT close though. Maybe I'll go check it out ROTD when it is released. :)

Ok, Trieu, you know it's such a crime to put new neo geo games in southern cal. Historically the neo geo gamers have flocked to Sunnyvale golfland for the beta releases. Please rectify the situation and bring the newest releases back north where the belong - where people can do more than jump kick -> sweep strategies. Bring the games back where the good gaming is: Sunnyvale.

As you probably already know Evil, most companies test "locally" and yes, at one point when SNK was in San Jose, Sunnyvale Golfland was the place, which, unlike Southern Hills Golfland, Sunny still gets the new Capcom stuff, which I wouldn't mind having down here.

Gaming is good in Sunny, but it's great in Southern Hills GL. :) Seriously, it's only because SNK is no longer in business up there that you're not going to get new releases. It's out of my hands. Now as for Capcom, I can ask beg all I want, even though I know a few people in there, but Sunnyvale GL will always have the newest arcade releases from them.

So the Northern CA'nians gets Capcom, we get NEOGEO.

BTW, many Sunnyvale competition gamers come down to SHGL often. John Choi is one of them, who is one of the mods on SRK.com.

Wah. SHGL has absolutely no competition in SNK games. They only have weekly tournament for Capcom games. The only one SNK tournament since '98 is for KOF2000. There used to be some 2000 players last year, but all of them migrated to Arcade Infinity, including myself.

And I also tried out MS4 today. I'm not a MS fan, but it's the same crap... the first three stages are too easy though; don't know about the rest.

How so?

Probably only my friends will be playing the game during Beta testings. As for KOF releases, Arcade Infinity always get them first, like a few days after the Japanese release. 2001 was released in SHGL like two or three months after AI.

Arcade Infinity is located in Roland Heights I believe. It's owned by the Tao brothers who also go under the Ebay names of "Arcadestuff" and "Arcadefever."

All their machines though, is the Japanese sit down type, which has a great screen, but personally, I never liked the square corners, since I'm used to the "rounded" U.S. version joysticks. Much easier to do special moves, IMO.

Alot of the KOF 2001 players at SHGL play on Thursday-Saturday nights if anyone is seeking a challenge. I'm sorry at KOF games, so I only play Alpha 3 and CvS2.

Well I dropped by on my lunch break. I played MS4 for a bit, but was really unimpressed. It really is the same stuff recycled from the previous games. The machine was 2 tokens/credit too so I only played through the first level or so before I gave up. Played a little KOF2k1 and CvS2 then took off.

Does anyone know the hours for Arcade Infinity? I dropped by there last Saturday around noon and it was closed.
