EDIT- it basically tells about what has happened to SNK, and sends people to www.neo-geo.com to buy KoF 2k1. I won't take his words in literal context, since that would be unprofessional.

Everyone turn to Head2Head.

Thanks Dan. ;)

June 2002 Issue, Spiderman is on the cover.

This isn't the first time that NG.com has been mentioned in the pages of GP either. :)

Anyway thanks Dan!

Peace

I got a free subscription to egm and gamepro. There were signups on the net. I don't remember where though.

I never read Gamepro, you should have sent it to EGM. Gamepro always seemed to be for younger gamers, while EGM was more adult oriented. Probably would get more feedback from EGM.

Maybe in the old EGM (where I seem to recall an honest-to-God 6-page spread on Samurai Shodown 2 in the Jan'94 issue, I believe. Good times) they would have done this, but they're under the umbrella of ZDNet, and since Harris and Semrad are no longer with them, integrity has abandoned them as well ;_;

Yeah...better to have sent it to EGM, the folks who have never shown a personal interest in SNK's products, than to GamePro, the mag whose editors are actually contributing members to your own online community. I'm not the only GP who visits this site, either--I'm just the only one who posts and lets you know who I am...

The letter in question was legit from an outside source--came as a paper letter and everything. When I got it, I contacted Trieu, who set the record straight for me on the funny restructuring dance that SNK has been doing and supplied me with the necessary facts so I could answer correctly. Gamers out there still care about SNK and its products, and it's good to see.

Oh, (he says, editing his message with an afterthought), and I get no financial kickbacks from Shawn. :) I just figured it was one very reliable website I could point people to that sold the game for a set price.

Yeah, I miss the old school magz. Now the only magazine that I like is Game Informer. But I also have subscriptions to PSX and Nintendo Power.
2 of the 3 were free.

I used to frequent the boards here more often a while ago, but been slacking mostly. The SNK contingent here at Gamepro is solid though. New followers are harder to convert as Dan made off with the office MVS machine (!). I shoulda called dibs, but what can you do?

Wow! It makes me proud to be a GamePro subscriber! This is one subscription I will definitely renew. It's good to know that some mags still have guys on the staff that represent the games I love :) .

And you made off with all the AES carts... :)

(Okay, I admit that I got the better end of the deal...but still, you didn't have the room, and I had to nurse that baby back to health when I got it home!)

I've been a subscriber to both Gamepro and EGM (EGM since issue #21). Both cool mags, but I DESPISE the "new" staff at EGM. Back in the days of Ed and the gang that mag simply ruled, not anymore though. Trying to be hardass and shit to bring in the young "rebels" is sooooo lame.

Oh yeah, Game Fan just ownZ both EGM and Gamepro, sorry all you GP people. :D

That mag is untouchable, best damn gaming publication there ever was and probably ever will be. Suprising enough, however, I never did subscribe to it. I just bought a ton off the newstands whenever I happened to pass by. The price was steep, but the overall quality of the mag (both in writing and actual paper/print quality) was tops. Big time SNK supporters too, they were. Always had huge multi-page layouts and recognized the artisctic value of the games themselves in each and every review.
