president of ENIX will become the vice president of SQUARE-ENIX.

I don't really care, since they both are going with the 3d flow anyways. the old school rpg's of both parties were great, but.. ehrmm... a ff and dq mix in 3d doesn't really appeal to me I'm afraid.

Good thing for me is that the old dq's on the snes are being translated :)

I like Enix games but I don't like Square games. Square turns their games from games into movies. I would rather play the damn thing than to watch a movie. I also hate the battle systems in the Final Fantasy series. Why can't they stick to the original Final Fantasy formula? They Dragon Warrior formula has always been basically the same so that is why I like it better. I thought that Dragon Warrior 7 kicked the other Final Fantasy's ass any day of the week. That is just my 2 cents.

I actually liked both company's games. I actually really enjoyed Final Fantasy X though true enough, it does seem a bit like a movie (though it's got nothing on Metal Gear Solid 2 for this failing.) What really surprised me is that though this deal is being called a merger, it's in actuality Square being acquired by Enix. It's kind of like the HP-Compaq deal which was also called a merger but was just the integration of Compaq into HP and the dissolving of their brand (watch me weep that Compaq's gone, yeah right.) I'm really surprised that a company which has basically only released one series of titles is acquiring a company like Square which has released a number of varied titles (though FF usually overshadows them all.) But Square did really get screwed by the Final Fantasy movie (which I actually thought was cool), a MMORPG FF title that's tanking and the lack of any of their other titles really selling large amounts. It'll be interesting to see how and if any of their franchises change from this.

1. This has nothing to do with Neo-Geo.

2. Thus, this is the wrong section to Post it.

3. I beat you to it. :p
