Shawn has sold slugs thru the neo-store for $2k+ well before now.
It's his business and he's entitled to askwhat he likes for his inventory, however I would say his prices are not indicative of actual market activity.

This item was already sold. I recently removed the “held” sign but forgot to update the quantity in stock from one to zero. The inventory status for this item has been correctly updated.
English Metal Slug sold for $2450 and Japanese Metal Slug sold for $2250, all within the past month through the Neo Store. There was no price drop. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm curious to ask, what's the most you've sold a Metal Slug game for thus far? I realize it's pretty much the ultimate item for a NeoGeo collector, just as well as I realize that I'll never own it. I'm just curious.

Those two prices are the highest Shawn has sold slugs fro through the neo store. In a recdent interview shawn estimated that if the market continues to grow as it has been the price of a us slug will escalate to $3000 next year.
And its not the ultimate collectors item btw. If you really want a slug 1- you can find one- which is more than what you can say for some titles...

Yeah, like US metal slug 2 they never seem to come on the market in the time i have been looking i've seen 2 or 3 US slug 1's but not a single slug 2!!! (*very annoying) but as far as collectors items go i am sure if a copy of English language Kizuna encounter (or whatever) came up we would see a proice that easily beets slug 1 for price!
