I paid $400 dollars on what I thought was a mint KOF 2001 MVS an instead I got a bootleg, and a poor one at that. The "insert coin" message is scrambled, the vs screen(after you fight) is jacked and the combo meters are scrambled to! AGGGHHH! I emailed the guy and told him that I wanted a refund or atleast a real MVS. I notice that he is selling another and it's bid is at $255 right now. Beware of ju707 from El Cajon, California. Later dudes.

I will if he doesn't make things right. By this I mean a refund or a legit version. What a bastard. Bootleggers suck.

Give him a bad review on the feedback section. I never buy from someone who even has a single bad rating. That'll stick it to him.

If you are so sure about the status of it being a bootleg, I'd try taking him up on that 10 warrenty. As his auction has loopholes that he did not protect himself against, as stating that the warranty was for defects, bootlegs, etc.

What about cleaning your slots? I dunno how much this would help, but it's worth a try.

The label is crooked, no serial number, no official SNK or Elioth decal, and the game hasn't been out to long and this suckers problems has bootleg written all over it.

He has a metal slug 3 mvs up that I was looking at the other day- I'll stay clear of his copy.

One thing i did notice is that he has a 1 slot mvs board, that he lists as not working. if he was a straight up crook, i would think he would pass that off as a working board with no guarentee.

I dont know, maybe he didnt know it was a bootleg

Well, I have 3 MVS machines(I know, a bit overindulgent) and 2 of them are virtually new candy cabs and I have the same problem with the game on all 3 cabs and I don't have any similar problems with any of my other games. So I don't think it is because my slots are dirty.

Wow! Did you get the Super Neo Candy that fast?
At least I know who not to buy MVS games from.
Especially that you paid a large amount for the game makes the situation even worse.

No, the dude is not a straight up crook because originally he sent me the wrong game(Metal Slug3)and I complained and he sent this "KOF2001" via 2 day air and sent me $6 on Pay Pal to ship his Metal Slug back. It's just when I spend that much dough, I want what I thought I was paying for. You know?

Ok, like I said, it was just a suggestion :) . I didn't know how many 'slots' you had to feed.

I have got to agree on the price you paid you should get the real deal. Here the differences:

I can get a REAL NEW KOF2001 - $425

I can get a Working Bootleg - $225

You do have him on one thing. Selling a "Bootleg" has got to be against some E-Bay law.

He sent you the wrong friggin' game? That deserves a poor rating already. The bottom line is, he has done nothing but screw things up for you.

Well let's break it out like this.

Open the fucking cart and tell me if you see a single Eprom on the top board. I forget which one it is but, If it has only that one eprom, then it's legit.

If not then you got booted.

P.S. Some Pictures might help in this as well...

Yeah. $400 is way too much for a poor working bootleg, but more importantly, if your selling a bootleg you should have the decency to be up front about it.

Show no mercy. He ripped you off. Negative feedback wouldn't help your situation, but it can prevent other ebay users.

It sounds like you have a defective cartridge, not a bootleg.

What colour is the cart shell? White or blue?

Tri warned about the KOF2K1 MVS carts from that seller some time ago, since there was no way he could have been offering legit carts for the price he was selling at. Time has passed, though, and prices have dropped.
