Send your complaint to safeharbor@ebay.com and include links to the seller's auctions. Here's my typical text for complaints to Safe Harbor:

The following auction:

(insert URL for sellers auctions here)

is an illegal auction of emulated games (ROMs) burned onto a single CDR disc. The seller has no licensing or sales rights to these games, and had nothing to do with creating them. ROMs (PC data files of original arcade or console games) are illegally dumped code from the original arcade games, and as such are not legal to sell. Since Neo Geo cartridge games typically cost $50-$300 each, if he were selling REAL Neo Geo games the cost would be more like $300-$500+ for this kind of auction.

Please end this auction immediately and warn the seller about future such auctions.

Thank you,<hr></blockquote>

So far, Safe Harbor has ended almost every auction that I complained about. Ebay gets credit from me for not tolerating this sh*t, unlike Yahoo auctions which just plain lets anything go . . . which is why I never buy or sell there, ever.

I think that Shawn should work something out with Playmore, in that he can represent them in the US.

Then he should make Chimp administrator of ebay activity with regards to neo geo items. :)

Thanks for pointing that out, Kim. My complaint went in right after I posted above, so hopefully between the two of us (and other complaints) that lamer's auctions will go down soon.

And Atland, selling ROMs isn't progress, its sleazy and disgusting. I have no problem with people using or downloading ROMs, but losers who sell them are profiting from games they had nothing to do with creating. That's the point, in case you couldn't figure it out . . .

So this guy takes a rom that is freely distributed and sells it on ebay... man, that is lame. You can get it off of alt.binaries.neogeo or just hit one of the emu pages if you really want it. How sad... Oh well, I doubt this auction will last long. I was reading up on the release of the MS4 roms soon... seems the emu community is kind of torn and most say that it is way to early for a release. Lets hope that is what happens, as I would hate to see MS4 available next week for download, but ahhh what can you do. It will never replace the real game on a Neo Geo, but if they enjoy it let them have their fun. The majority of them wouldn't have bought the game anyway, so atleast it keeps SNKs spirit alive... even if it seems a little dirty.

I have a friend at work, he hasn't bought a CD in years. Has gigs of mp3s, always downloading shit. I asked him if he ever buys CDs, he laughed at me and said "why should I"? I mean... I just don't get it... but then again, some people just like to get stuff for free. I like having the real disk, with full sound quality, liner notes, etc... And most of all I like to support the artist and the label (most stuff I listen to is on smaller labels, so I know piracy hurts them). I download music too, but if I like something, I am buying it. The same goes for the ROMs...

Not a lot of people feel the same way, what can you do. If they had no intents to buy then that is probably the way it will always be. They try to justify that these games cost to much, well, yeah they are expensive, that was always a problem with the Neo Geo, but life is a bitch, and the better things in life usually are not free!!! :) If they want to play roms forever, well that is their choice, the true Neo Geo fans will own the hardware and buy the games, that is how it has always been and will always be.

Why am I ranting... good I must be tired and confused... later,

-Nick

What resolution is your screen in? That can have a lot to do with how pics look on your computer. It doesn't overlap anything on mine, but it is indeed big in any resolution.

FYI, all three auctions by this loser were taken down, as you can see here:

<a href="http://cgi6.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=ViewListedItems&userid=b4asuper&include=0&since=30&sort=3&rows=25" target="_blank">http://cgi6.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=ViewListedItems&userid=b4asuper&include=0&since=30&sort=3&rows=25</a>

Looks like Safe Harbor took care of it again, thanks to all who reported this leech. :D

I guess the bastards auction has been gone since yesterday. Hopefully the bastard learned a lesson from this. My thanks goes out to Chimp, since he was the 1st person to take action. Thanks to anyone else who helped!

Making profit ( selling ) of free ( and downloadable ) stuff is really a low move. For those who play just to enjoy the game, I don't see any problem. Earth has 6 Billion habitants, less than 1000 AES carts were released, MVS Carts aren't that much, Why should always have people that don't want to share with others? that's the best the emulators can offer including net play.

Of course, Nothing is as good as the real thing.
