VGD speaks on MS3

"Regarding Metal Slug 3. We're aware of certain rumblings concerning a "phoenix like" resurgence of SNK of Japan who are supposedly rereleasing Metal Slug 3 if prebooks reach 1000. As far as we're concerned, it's conjecture at this point as we have recieved no notifications from any asian or Japanese supplier regarding this reissue. We've been down the "SNK Prebook" road before where they have claimed to reproducing certain titles if minimum order levels are met and have been burned at the last minute. This has only served to disappoint many that preordered with us.

Video Game Depot's greatest strength has been delivering what we said we would (Sega Gaga Limited, Bio Hazard DC's, Biohazard Suitcases, DC Link Cables, to name a few) and we will not compromise that integrity by offering prebooks on items that may or may not come to actual fruition.

We are not stating that the Metal Slug 3 rerelease isn't real. We are stating that we aren't taking prebooks at this time because the cart has simply not been made available to us.

Finally, should we firmly believe that Metal Slug 3 will be reissued (and equally is offered to us), you can bet that we will begin accepting prebooks for the best of the Slugs."

YEP! thats the deal here. for those who dont know it already, wake up. you must pre book at NCS to show your support and do it with a credit card if you can(DO NOT pre order if you do not intend to follow thru with the purchase)you have nothing to loose by doing so. its just a shame that no other stores will take prebooks. OF COURSE snk wants to see how many pre books can be had first, but if stores dont take pre orders there will be no feed back to warrant A new run of ANY home cart.

I really don't want to eat my words, but MS3 is NOT going to be re-released...I REALLY hope it does, but it won't...I'm about 99% sure of this...IMO, that is...

I see al this from a different point of view.

I think not, but this might be a market survey from SNK, to see how much interest there still is in the home cart market. And will probably affect future home cart releases. So i think everyone should show their support to SNK. Just in case dont pre-order it if you dont have the money to spend in case it might come out <IMG SRC="smilies/eek2.gif" border="0">

Its not a fake...its "supposed" to come out, but it won't...I have my copy of MS3 on the way...no re-release for me <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I dont' know if its fake or not, but i DID see on SNK japans Metal Slug project page where they SHOW the rom version of MS 3 with a release date for this year, and a yen price by it, its on the same page as the metal slug x release info for PSX that came out earlier this year. so who knows....

Sorry, but I can only see the old date on the MS Project Page (2000,6,1). And its last update happened on June-30-2000.
Could you please give a link to the new date you mentioned? Thank you.
