Hi all,

This is a message for all London based neo=geo aes collectors. If you have a large and impressive collection please can you pm me asap. I am currently writing for a video games magazine (you can guess which one) and we are running a special on collectors- we are looking for a london (or nearby) collector to interview and have the collection photographed for a Christmas special.

Please PM me asap and I can give you more details.

This is also open to people who have large collections of NGPC/ Saturn etc etc...

Thank-you

Well, I'm a long time reader of Edge (since ish no. 1) and all I can say of the SNK / Neo Geo coverage in recent issues (amongst retro based articles) is that the info given is rather inaccurate to say the least.

I don't know who provides Edge with thier info. on Neo Geo stuff, but they don't know what they're talking about half the time... or so it would seem.

Anyway, Edge is based in Bath. Why on earth would they want London based collectors?? Need to broaden your horizons...

Yep, I love EDGE and have been reading it since issue 0 but when it comes to the Neo they show no godamn respect. They published the price of a home system as £1000 in an article a while back. This made it nearly impossible to pick up a Neo in the UK for months afterwards. This was around the time Shawn had the batch of brand new Neos so I assume thats where they got the price from. They also gave Metal Slug 6/10 from what I remember <img src="graemlins/veryangry.gif" border="0" alt="[Very Angry]" />

Edge's recent MAME special was a disgrace too, advocating ROM usage of even very recent games, MS4 for example.

I get the mag but their editorial is a bit off kilter sometimes.

I would just like to point out that I have only become involved with edge very recently. I have been brought in to raise the profile and quality of the collectors aspect of the publication- evidence of which you will see next year.

I cannot and must not give more details nor can I comment on what has happened with regard to edge features in the past. You will all understand. Many of the features in edge are written by freelance writers and so there is bound to be different slants on any one issue...

I am working on a specific project that is profiling some of the key collectors in the country for a special (which, for the record, I am not in charge of...just writing a little bit for). That is why I wanted to see if there was anyone that fits the bill here.

We're looking for London collectors because that's where a lot of our prior photography arrangements are.

If you are interested please PM me with furthur details rather than pose on this thread...

I wasn't having a go at you or Edge, but they could do with a bit of specialist knowledge in that area so its good your with them.

I know a UK based person, with a very nice ngpc collection (3ngpc's, roughly 30 games including duplicates/variations).

He is based in reading, I could contact him if needed, as for my NGH collection, only 8 carts.

The daftest thing was my sister was round at the weekend to play Puzzle Bobble and when she saw my Shock Troopers box she was all 'I haven't seen that for ages, let play that!'

I'm still trying to pick my jaw up.
