Thank you, Big Bruno! The magazine was released, but production was VERY limited. Mouse Master, Brylmoo, OdinsGhost, Samhian and others have received their issues.

great news! It's wonderful to see that SNK will produce this game for MVS, and it seems to be a special one to so everything is perfect.

Very interesting news, NeoLord. Although I must say that I'm not sure how they can make it BETTER than the Dreamcast SNK vs. Capcom, which of course runs in higher resolution with 3D backgrounds. Personally, I'm more interested in Samurai 5, Garou 2, Metal Slug 4, Last Blade 3 . . . these are the most exciting potential sequels, and thusfar they seem to be nothing more than vapor.

SNK vs. Capcom has been done on Naomi and DC, and SNK vs. Capcom Pro (or 2, or whatever they're calling it) is coming to Naomi, and POSSIBLY the DC as well. I really can't see how retrofitting these games to the Neo will benefit us, when they're already on much higher level hardware.

Oh well, time will tell as always. Of more interest to me on your news page was the stuff about PC ports of a bunch of SNK games, including Samurai Shodown 2 and 4, Last Blade, and Metal Slug 2!! Those would be great to have on official PC releases, but I wonder two things: can they be better than the emulated versions of those games, and will they be released in the U.S. (since a Korean company is producing them). Should be interesting to see what happens . . . <IMG SRC="smilies/glee.gif" border="0">

I really hope it comes out so I can kick
CAPCOM's ass for hold back on the KOF characters in CVS 1 . In SNK v.s. Capcom
Andy Bogard will definitely be playable.

I hope aswell that atleast 1 Capcom Character looks bad. I was so mad when I looked at Terry in CvS, Mai and Ryo were bad aswell. Never played the game ever since... And this time all the SNK characters will probably have all there moves! I hope so!

It is not that I am trying to start anything, but was it not NGF originally posting information in October of last year about an MVS version of SNK vs. Capcom being in development? How is it that they were able to correctly predict titles such as Sengoku 3, NitD, Bang Bead, Ghostlop, and now, SNK vs. Capcom?

EDIT - grammar check

I just went to NGF.com and there was no mention of SNK vs Capcom MVS. Care to elaborate, Kisel?

Heh, now if I recall correctly Dion stated that ss5 was coming out, it did not. Of course iw will soon, it was going to happen either way, its predictable.
Ang then there was last blade 3.
dions credibility. is next to shit.
Right now I am stating there will be a samurai shodown 6, before it comes out! (was that predictable or what)
The fact is games are so easily thought up because you know in your head what comes next. And as for NITD he was NOT the first to announce it.
"last blade 3 at jamma" that one got me, where is the orange metal slug cases dion??
I can roll for days.....

I just received an Email from Dion Dakis this morning:

Subject:
NGF posts news way ahead
Date:
Mon, 18 Jun 2001 00:46:40 -0700
From:
"Dion Dakis" <dion@neogeofreak.com>
To:

Just go to www.NeoGeoFreak.com
and click the "News" sections. Click the
"news from 2000" and read about EVERY SINGLE CORRECT announcement we
made.
You can also check the viewpoint sections.

thank you,

Here's the paragraph Dion refers to:

October 08, 2000
companies battle 2

Franchise Versus

GREAT NEWS! With the complete success of Capcom vs. SNK on Capcom's
Naomi system, Aruze/SNK is now making
the final adjustments on their own NeoGeo version of the same game - titled:
Capcom vs. SNK (not to be confused with
the Neo Pocket SNK vs. Capcom). The game is about 95% complete and is
expected to hit the arcade market coming in
mid 2001. This deal has been done over a year ago and both companies agreed
to have their own version of the game for
their respected hardwares. The NeoGeo version was actually worked on mostly
at Capcom, with both SNK and Capcom
programmers. The joint effort is paying off and we can expect many more
"cross-over" games to start appearing from both
companies. We at NGF have always wanted a Neo version, and now we'll have
it. And as always, NGF will provide the
NeoGeo AES versions of the games for the true NGFers.

I'll give Dion credit for mentioning SNK vs Capcom MVS late last year, but Dion
never mentioned any specifics to validate his 'insider' scoop on SNK vs
Capcom MVS -- he just said it was 'coming soon'. I decided to post everything my contacts knew about the actual
game, right down to the groove stlye that SNK will use. Sorry Mr. Dakis, but you
were scooped on this one. Just remember one thing, Mr. Dakis: you were not the only
one who was real 'close' to SNK back in the day.
