I have been looking to buy Samurai Shodown IV. In the last week or so, I have noticed a lot of people selling Samurai Shodown IV. But they all appear to be selling the same game. Some are claiming it to be a Korean version of Samurai Shodown IV. It looks the same as the English one but the title screen is different and some other minor things.

Has anyone run across this? Is this a legit Korean release or are these Korean coversions or something?

according ot one guy who has the game (other than me) he popped it open to check out the innards, and it was completely legit - 100% SNK, and not a conversion.

Another guy said it was produced for the Korean market with the idea that it would sell well (being the popularity of the neo in Korea), but that didn't really happen. The topic is extended into the general discussion forum if you want to look for it there.

Wow ... you really are a baller. Could you just give me grocery money instead? It's hard to finish school on an empty stomach with a dad who stole $45K from you.

I didn't notice it at first, but you're right. That cart doesn't catch finger prints as easily as my Japanese carts... Nice.

The only real difference is the type of plastic they use. The korean cases are none polished and look simillair to the plastic Nintendo uses. I actually prefer the Korean versions cases over the japanese because you don't get finger prints on them.

Come to think op it, I have US Gowcaizer that has a case that is unshiny.
It looks odd.

My SS4 is of the Korean variety as well. My system is not mod'd, so maybe another of you can asnwer this question. If the system is set to MVS mode, do you still get blood and the ability to whack guys in half?

There were a few other minor details though that were different, like one of the fighters names was different but I can't remember right now.

I've got one too, unfortunately. The lack of voice is really annoying, but the worst part is the glitchy graphics. I'd imagine it's not a common problem, but certain characters show up with all sorts of black lines through them. Not all, just certain ones...

if you d'have a modified "multi-norm" neo geo, you could switch the languages of every NG game, so this means your american version is a korean version as well, somehow.

Is the Korean version limited to AES carts or are there MVS carts like this too?

Koreans also produced MVS games. I have a MVS game "The Last Blade", but my Korean MVS game is labeled "THE LAST SOLDIER"

I know of 5 other AES games that are Korean versions. KOF96, KOF95, Fatal Fury 3, Galaxy Fight, and Savage Reign are just some of the games. Check the back of your game cart..I think you might have the others not listed here.
