Hop unfortunately (and knowing !Arcade!) I cant see the AES II being any less than $400, actually I am guessing probably $500 or $600 figuring that their convertor is still going for over 3.

Thanks for the tease Gabe!

What kind of Denon do you have? Have you seen that monster of a receiver the 5800? I wish I had the money for that beast but the 4800 is a great receiver for the size of my room.

mine is a little older (fromlike '97 I think?) and doesn't have digital inputs. I got it right when AC3 was coming on to the scene, and thus it does not have that capability. It does do Dolby Surround though, which is just plenty for my house. The model is AVC-2800. PLENTY of juice for a home system, that's for sure. Good warm sound too. Not tinny, like many Sony amps.

Yeah, I had a sony receiver before a Denon. While it was was a great receiver (their top of the line ES model back in 98) after getting the Denon their was a big difference. The Denon has a better sound field where everything has solid imaging.

Very good taste, someday I will upgrade my Denon 3200 to a 4800 or 5800. Sweet sounds.

jethrek let's look at the logic behind this. !Arcades! convertor when it came out sold for around $400, now its around $300. Do you think that they would release an entire system for the same price as their convertor...if so...no one would buy the convertor unless they plan on dropping the price to below $100.
