Shenmue 2 fans! Good news!

The official release date for the UK version of Shenmue 2 has been set! To the best of my knowledge, it will only be sold at Electronic's Boutique. The official release date will be December 19th. It will be $59.99 plus tax. (that's what it is at my store, anyway) Remember, this game will only output PAL video, so you must have a VGA box or some other way to display it. I realize that Liquid Snake already posted a similar thread, except with the wrong date. Go out and reserve your copy now!

UK version.

As everyone already knows, there will be NO US version available. Sega has discontinued all game development in the US. If you want to continue your game, you'll have to get a finished UK game save. No other way...

No, no, no, no.

The game WILL output in NTSC from your US DC as long as you have the ability to boot it up. No need to worry about getting a VGA box or PAL TV or something.

I hacve the UK Shenmue 2 and it boots up on my NTSC TV through my modded DC with NO problmes at all.

Buy the game and enjoy it thoroughly. I am almost done and let me tell you something; its a longer, more beautiful, well rounded game than it predecessor ever was. I chose to recognise this game as the game of the year. It's just that good. Pick it up.

There is a way to convert your US save. Just vivit www.gamefaqs.com...ah screw it, Ill give you a direct link to the faq, and read the very bottom (or there around) to learn how to convert your US save to a pal one. http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/dreamcast/file/shenmue_ii.txt

Is it ok if you just have a Gameshark CDX? Or, does your Dreamcast HAVE to be modded? No problems here as I have a VGA box if the CDX method doesn't work.

As long as you can boot any Dc game, you'll be okay with Shenmue 2. I have not heard of any problems with the DCX or any other method. YOu'll be okay.

Release date is changed........

I'm playing JPN Shenmue 2 right now.......it's a lot better than first one but only problem is that I can't read Japanese.......ggrrrrrrrrrrr

Well, Liquid. I hate to spoil it, but Lan di is Ryo's father. Joy and Ryo are brother ans sister. HOng Kong transforms into a giant robot and Ryo has to drink magic juice to grow inot a giant and do battle with the giant robot.

Cool game. And Ren is the best character ever.

But just so Sega can fleece us for some more money, they're gonna "stun the world" with the totally unexpected Shenmue 4 - A New Hope.

Apparently the 'killer' hook is the "Who shot Lan Di?" storyline.

I reckon its that bitch out of Sunset Beach.

You didnt have to convert it!?!? I would have tried to use my US Shenmue save, but it was not complete. Maybe I will go back and finish the first one. Itll be hard to go back though. hmm.

Anyways, Shemue 2 outclasses the first one so royally that it is not even funny. You owe it to yourself to play this game. It truly is the last great DC game.
