Hey guys I just received Motw today and So I popped it in My Dc with the original Game running in the Neo Geo right next to it for comparison's sake just to see how Good of a translation it was and to to my Suprise I think they did a very good job, It seemed to play a little slower to me and maybe the response time was a little slower also but I want everyone to give their reviews on the game when you got it.

Graphics: 10
Sound Orinigal Track:9
Sound Arrange Track:9
Gameplay: 7
No how to play Feature:0
Extra Stuff Art, etc: 8
Overall Value: Execellent if you don't have the Orinigal.
Compared to the Original Neo Version: 8 very close but no Trophy.
Winner :NeoGeo
Recomendations:Thumbs Up.

Is there language support like KoF'99 or is it like LB2 which quotes and storylines are in Japanese only?

This is a 2-D Neo Geo fighter, that's more than a few years old, on a system much more powerful than the hardwear it's on. It was a given it'd be a LOW score, Besides 25 out of 40 isn't bad.

Their grading this as a DREAMCAST game, not a Neo Geo game. As a dreamcast game it probably looks unimpressive to most people, but who cares about "review scores" anyways, their BULLSHIT!

When I write reviews I never score games, I just give my opinion. BTW you can view an honest review of DC MOTWs complete with screenshots soon here: http://planetshogo.com/dash/reviews/

Famitsu is the Japanese equivalent of EGM (OK, a little bit better but not by much).

The Famitsu reviewers aren't exactley the Heralds of the Gaming Universe like some make them out to be.

I rememeber reading some of their Reviews on Ferrari F355 translated into english, and some of there reviews sounded like little kids reviewing them, they were like "it's too hard, car move to fast, no like", something to that effect.

It's amazing how many americans put them up so high, just because there japanese guys (we all know asian people are ALL gaming gods right?).

Doesn't 7 + 7 + 6 + 6 = 26? That's a bit more than half, so I don't think that's two thumbs down... Maybe one thumb down, or something. Besides, who cares about Famitsu? Why are they so respected? I've seen them trash countless games I love, only to turn around and give Final Fantasy 8 like 39/40 or something... People give them wayyy too much credit, much more than they deserve, IMO.

How many arranged tracks are there? Is there an arranged track for all of the old songs? If so, that very well may have convinced me to get the DC version... I just need something better than these damn Dreamcast pads to use with it. Man oh man, I would be in heaven if I could use my Neo stick... My baby

Edit: Hah! Drift King EX, I was thinking the exact same thing... Just 'cause they're Japanese guys and the name of the magazine is 'Famitsu' (sounds like a big car company or something) That's like the only reason people hold them in such high regard... I see people shitting all over EGM nonstop over here, but when Famitsu speaks it's like the word of god or something... I was going to say something about that, but I couldn't really figure out a way to fit it in my post... Hehe

Famitsu has always gone against my judgement. I use them as an acid test. They say no, I say yes. Same goes for movies and Entertainment Weakly. EW says no, I say yes. What magazine in their right mind wants to hire a gamer with "cult" tastes?

Oh yeah... EGM sucks too. Only magazine I ever liked was Maxim, and the interest wore thin after 1998. (pornography doesn't count)

I did like the Famitsu team though. Yamazaki, Choi, and Chang. Three criminals/nut cases. Was that a hidden message?

Yea Famitsu is just like EGM, they trash good games left and right, or give them below par scores, but all the big releases like FF, Metal Gear ect ect. they give like a near perfect score.

I guess the more money you spend on production = a higher score in gaming mags.

Cause how could anyone ever make a worthwhile game on a low budget?

Hey everyone. I've had this on home cart from day one, but I still ordered my copy from NCS. I'm expecting it to arrive on Saturday.

But the question about language support hasn't been answered yet. Can the game be played in English? It's not that a big deal to me since I have the cart, but I'm curious all the same to see if SNK decided to keep it in there.

Famitsu are shit for reviews. If anyone wants to see a sample of page i'll scan one in so you can see just how "detailed" their reviews are. The lowest score they have given a Dreamcast game is to my knowledge July (text based game) 20/40. Most DC games get 30+/40.

Famitsu are cool for news and game coverage but anyone who uses their reviews as a buying guide is a gullible casual mug (sadly, judging by sales in Japan their influence is quit big)

See, they have given 25/40 to Garou yet they give Final Fantasy 8 37/40. Even crappy Pachinko games outscore Garou. Those KOF 2001 screenshots are from Famitsu: proof that they totally rule when it comes to coverage but their reviews are a waste of space and involve so much Squaresoft brown nosing.

Hey Taiso, as far as I can tell it's like Last Blade 2: Final Edition with no English option available.

So are we fighting with Khushnood Butt or Marco Rodriguez in this game? The Griffin Mask or Tizzoc?

It isn't worst than how those EGM idiots gave Shenmue a nonsense score. They even put that incoherence Chrono Cross as the best RPG and best game of 2000 "Complete BS!! Skies of Arcadia is better than that 'gameplay only goodie with bad story crap'"

Famistu gave it higher than those EGM idiots saying, "It's a boring game."

Hell, this is Garou we're talking about, not Shenmue.

I say the score Fam gave Garou on DC is uncalled for. IGN.com is the type of SNK reviewing crew you can trust. You can agree or disagree with me here. No matter what video game review crew you can trust or not trust.
