Perhaps they are unaware of its value. I made the mistake many times but don't automatically assume everyone knows all the values for the cartridges

Also don't automatically assume these people are going to carry out with the auction

Yeah, but $50 SS2 carts aren't as RARE as $150 SS2 carts. :-)

To prevent any further confusion, this is a joke - thus the smiley face above.

Everyonce in awhile stuff like this happens. Its funny to see, but sometimes people just dont know the value of the stuff and overbid, or it could just be a nonpaying bidder :/

Actually, there're few other factors to consider:

1. Ship worldwide: This will encourage more people to bid, even if you're reluctant to do this, they'll at least help drive the bid prices up. Just look at my KOF 2000 home cart auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1203535771

My top 3 bidders are from Germany, Australia, and Italy

2. Feedback: In many cases people would pay more for an item from 20+ feedback seller compard to 0 feedback.

3. A little bit of bonus: I threw in KOF magazine which helps a lot.

I actually saw that one on ebay. I am used to seeing items on higher end of the scale at ebay, so nothing really surprises me. I am ok w/ Blazing Star AES cart go for $500 (I wouldn't pay more than $350), but I had to admit that when I saw this, I thought...what the? It's very common.

I agree w/ what others said. Also, take account of how much you want the item. I would like to think that I know the "value" of most item I bid, but sometimes I really bid high--just because I want it right now.
If they want to spend more money, so be it. It's their choice.

And I hate to say this, but in rare circumstances, some people drive prices high for their friends auction--clearly it doesn't look like it, in this case, though.
