dreamcast.nl has this following news http://www.dreamcast.nl/nieuws.asp?nieuwsID=127

''SNK may have depts but there not giving up...

Last week SNK announced Garou Mark of the Wolves. This game is the sequal of the famouse Fatal Fury serie and it will hit the stocks in the thirth quater of 2001.

Yesterday (5 april) they announced that Metal Slug 3 will come to the Dreamcast. Unfortunatly nothing is official but the rumours are getting loader. If we think about it, it does make sence since the PSX and the Saturn couldn't handle this game. The Dreamcast is one of the few machines who can handle this arcade game.

Next week we espect more news about this''

?? really comming ?? Would be great, bringing more and more SNK games to a larger public will defenetly do good.

Finally, a chance to play Metal Slug 3! How much do you want to bet that this game and Garou on DC get bashed by certain people regardless of their quality?

No doubt they will get bashed by those that believe "3D = Good Games." The crew of PSM magazine was bashing Metal Slug X for PSX because it did not have 3D backgrounds, or updated graphics.

Well, that's PMS for you. I can't believe that magazine, with it's cheesey covers (I'm sorry, it had to be said; those covers are aweful) and poor graphic design, is still around. Though, maybe it should be. After all, it is the cheapest PSX mag out there and we all know how idiotic the majority of PSX owners are...

Stop buying PMS!

I guess they are in a liable contract with SEGA, as SEGA did publish their games on NGP as well.

The POS2 probably could not handle the level of 2D graphics required for Metal Slug 3.

Besides, if Sony told CAPCOM they did not want any of their 2D games on the POS2, why would they even consider SNK?

I am really hoping Capcoms 2D legacy continues on Gamecube.

SNK o DC is a great thing...

As I posted once, I say it again: I like 2D and 3d graphics as well. All I care for is the control and gameplay as well as replay-value. And SNK has never disappointed me. I also leave all those exaggerated, too high-priced carts behind, I also don't want to pay over 700$ for a good game. I also like to have it for 60$-70$. Everyone should get a chance for having a good and innovating game for a acceptable price. If there will really be MS3 on DC, count me in too to surely buy this title!

What you say? Sony told CAPCOM that they didn't want 2D games on PS2? Are you serious?! I guess I can see that already with their first couple of releases on it, but that's silly! I suppose the PS2 really can't handle the 2D ... in fact does it have any hand-drawn 2D games out or coming out other than the Gradius collection? That's probably why my brother got it on day 1 for RR5 and really hasn't played it since ... and just bought a DC the other week for CvS and KOF.

Yes, Sony, in all their infinite wisdom, did tell CAPCOM they did not want to see any of their 2D games on the system (excerpt is from a meeting between CAPCOM and Sony, which CAPCOM later published). Remember, Sony is the same company that initially said they did not want to have RPG's on the PlayStation because they did not think they would sell.

I think the DC is the system for SNK-games. Dreamcast is much more owned by 'hardcore' gamers than the ps2 and games like Garou and MS3 will only get the attention of this group of gamers. The casual PS gamers wouldn't buy an Metal Slug or Garou, but go for Quake and Tekken.

Wow, another good game that I bought for Neo Geo. Seriously, I will definitely pick up that copy as well for DC. This is great.

If you already have Neo version, what's the point to pick up DC one?

And the sound has to be better. Who knows what SNK will surprise you with -- case in point KOFE which some "purists" perfer over the MVS/AES version of 99. Well I have no Neo Geo so I'm gonna have to get the DC version.

You make a good point. I can give you many reasons. But I will make it kind of quick. Some games like MS 3 is such great that you don't mind owning them on other platform.

On the otherhand, others will use that same remark in not getting a Dc port, "It's a masterpiece already. Why mess w/ perfection". To each his own, I guess.
