I have made a few changes! Replace "Kyo" in my title, and put "Ralf" in it's place.

Has anyone ever heard of this game from 1998 by PsiKyo?

I know you guys frown on emulation, but this is too good to pass up.

Daraku Tenshi: I got this emu from a friend of mine today. There was a fighting game made back in 1998 called "Daraku Tenshi: Fallen Angels".

In it are 3 characters that look and act just like Maxima, Krizalid, and Ralf do in KOF 99. Look at this picture:

daraku.png

In it are 2 characters that I believe were the inspiration for Krizalid and Maxima.

1.) Cool, as you see him on the left, has a costume that looks exactly like Krizalid, belts and everything ( it's not a good picture, sorry ). He even has the Krizalid feathers on his shoulder.

2.) Harry, on the right, has a set of guns on his wrists just like Maxima.

In this game, for his winpose, he does exactly like Maxima does in KOF, he puts out his cartridges ( that look and spin just like Maxima's ), holds his arm up, and spins them around, and he glows with that line of energy from his head to his shoes ( just like Maxima ).

3.) There is another character on the game ( I can't remember his name, that does a super move that looks EXACTLY like Ralf's Galactica Phantom in KOF 99'. You know how Ralf holds his fist back for a couple of moments before he does the GP? Well, the person in question has a super and a normal move just like the GP! Same poses and everything! When he releases the punch, again, it's same poses, and overswing when he hits/misses!

Now, this game came out a year before KOF 99' did? Are Max, Kriz, and Ralf's super move an homage to them?

I can't belive, it can't be true ... SNK thieves? Incredible  , but I doubt it.

We have to look some artbooks, drafts, mooks, sketches or something like that to see if the original designs are older than daraku tenshi game.

If somebody finds a clue, post it! <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Maybe just a little similar... I wonder if there was some character from an anime that inspired both these designs.

I have the pcb for this game. It's actually really good. There's this character called Onigawara who is kind of like a mix between Kushnood Butt and Gato - a real yakuza Karate freak who never showers and so he has flies buzzing around him. When you kock him down the flies try to follow him.

The guy who you say is like Krizalid, when he does his charge kick black feathers float off his coat - like the flies they aren't simply attached to the character sprite but are follow their own path.

There's also a transvestite - one of the twins is not really a female.

The last boss is really a badass and damn cheap to boot. His name is Carlos, carrying a katana and wearing a white suit under a black trenchcoat.

That GP is not really a DM but a special move that can be pulled off at any time. Moreover, I'd relate him a lot closer to the child of Yashiro and K'. The game Daraku Tenshi was released in '98 by the way, and KoF 99 was released in the second half of '99.
