King of Fighters 2002 Video/Pics

At the latest Sunday, I should have a super clean video footage of KOF 2002 ready for download. It's 18 minutes long, so those who don't have broadband, well, meet up with someone who does have it.

The video quality is top notch as it was recorded directly from the video output source of a cab into a MINI DV. After a few transfers though, the quality suffered, but I assure all of you that it's ten times better quality than what you've seen thus far.

I'm transferring it to mpeg video as we speak so both PC and Mac users will enjoy the footage. Because of the limitation of bandwith on my server, Shawn will be hosting it for optimum download speed.

For now, I can only share pics with you that you will soon see in full glory motion video in two days. Enjoy and see ya Sunday:

Some quick notes. KOF 2002 looks fabulous. The backgrounds are so much nicer and cleaner than KOF 2001. There's an elevator stage with the leaning tower of Pisa in the background that is just stunning. The vertical scrolling is just sensational with no slow down in combat whatsoever.

A la Fatal Fury, the background mood changes per round, from sunlight to afternoon, midnight, etc.

The pics don't do it justice. The video is just unbelievable. :D I keep watching it over and over again. Can't get enough.

LOL, the animation identical to KOF 2001, so whatever that means to you. Pretty much all KOF's play the same and in order to keep the speed, the frames are sacrificed, so it's not your MOTW, but nevertheless, it looks great.

If you liked KOF 2001, you'll like this one even more. If not, well, you'll never like KOF.

It don't need to be Mark of the Fucking Wolves it needs to be like KoF should be. 2K1 is a piece of shit glitchy game.

Even as much as KoF 2K was broken with the massive Striker Bullshit all over the place, the Game was still fucking fun.

All I'm saying is that some people need to fucking not get their fucking hopes up and whatnot only to realize the gameplay sucks a fucking dick. If the gameplay plays like '98 or better then that's good enough for me.

To the rest of you:
If you've got a fucking problem with my opinion then fucking speak your mind about it! Don't be a fucking wuss and not say anything.

The one place where KOF2K1 did shine was its gameplay, everything else was just crap to mediocore.

The gameplay looks very similar to KOF2K1. I can't tell unless I play it. I'd say it doesn't play like KOF '98, so you probably won't like it. Bonus is right, don't keep your hopes up. It sucks. :)

I speak my fucking mind when i feel like it. The art for this game is shit and i pray to fucking god the gameplay isn't in the fucking crapper also.

I'm seriously hoping i'm wrong because if the game sucks ass then I will truly dissappointed.

I love my Neo*Geo and the games I have on it kick some serious ass but I'm not a blind stupid ass to say games like Legend of Success fucking Joe are great games because they are not.

Mark of the Wolves is Good,.

Metal Slug 1,2,x & 3 are good.

Sengoku 3 is good.

Ninja Masters is good.

Fatal Fury Special is good.

KoF 96/97/98/99/2K is Good.

This is coming from someone who spent a shitload of hours playing these games. So when KoF 2K1 came out and I was sorly let down by this glitched out gameplay I was fucking pissed and rightly so. 2K2 So far hasn't done shit to impress me.

Period.

I fucking REFUSE to let myself get sucked into the fucking hype until I either A)Play it or B)Hear people who actually play fighting games talk about it.

very well, I accept that. I do agree that 2k1 was pretty bad...perhaps I forgot for a second the extreme freedom of speech on these boards compared to that piec of shit place I was before...but overall, I DO agree with you, BonusKun about your expectations..this new KoF better be worth it.

Thx Trieu. Looks great. but I too need game play info. I could really care less if the life bars look like shyt etc etc. Is the game solid? Thats all.

Rock on with your bad self Bonus Kun. I feel the exact same way...seems like folks totally sidestep the issue of GAMEPLAY on this game...all the hair-splitting over art and what characters come back doesn't mean shit unless the real 3-on-3 glitch-free gameplay has returned. People like you and I probably won't get a real answer until we sit the fuck down in front of the cabinet and drop $5.00.
