New News about KOF 2001

I just looked at KOF Online was disappointed to here that Eolith will only make their announcement this Friday about KOF 2001 on their KOREAN site only. Now Vincent over at KOF online needs someone who can read Korean so he can give out the news..... <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

It was already announced at AMOA a week ago that KOF 2001 was no-show.

I'm willing to bet it's Garou 2. Remember that a while ago they said they wouldn't disclose any info about Garou 2 until Garou 1 hit the Dreamcast.

I hope it's Garou 2 and not another crappy installment of Samurai Shodown. A Garou sequal, with everyone from the first, along with new characters and some old faces (Andy, Billy, Mai, Joe, and that should be it) would be incredible.

Whats wrong with Samurai Showdown? It is one of the best devloped fighting game series today and I would love to see another sequel, in fact I look forward to Samurai Showdown 5 more then any other game for the Neo-Geo well maybe except SNK Vs Capcom. The game features an atmosphere and a roster of cool characters like no other. You have Hanzo, Genjuro, Haohmaru, Kazuki, Basara as well as many other intresting characters in the Samurai Showdown series.

well they aged terry well.. it would be interesting to see how Mai, Joe, Billy and Andy aged. Maybe Mai could be the First Pregent Female Fighter, kinda like the Demi Moore thing but for Fighters <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0"> or better yet she can be Cheering on Andy in the Background.

No I do hate Samsho with a passion, maybe not as much as I hate cutesy shit like TSS and WW7, but Samsho still leaves a rotten taste in my mouth.

May I ask why? Samurai Showdown's premise of sword based fighting is extremly fun and blocking takes a new meaning in this series. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion of course. I'm just wondering.

Alright then. Everyone has their own tastes. Still doesn't mean the series should be called crappy though. I for one enjoy almost all fighting games. From Street Fighter and KOF to Dead or Alive and Soul Caliber.

Damn I tell ya its been a long time coming and I would like to see my fave samurai warriors in action again, Haohmaru, Genjuro, Jubei, Tachibana Ukyo, Charlotte and little Cham cham. If SNK is hiding a Last Blade 3 build then release that as well. I just love KATANA Battle action games. Long live Samurai Shodown and Last Blade Series. They are the most awesome pieces of software SNK has...

Thanks finally I get someone who agrees with me. I can't wait to play Samurai Showdown 5 its been a long time... I think about 5 years now since Samurai Showdown 4. When SNK released Samurai Showdown (Spirits) they released an orignal game like no other. I hope its Samurai Showdown 5 at the AMOA Arcade show.

I have to agree with Neon8. I love the Samurai Showdown series! If it wasn't for Genjuro, Cham Cham, and Siger in SS2, I probably would have never gotten into the SNK and Neo scene. I'd love to see SS5 at the AMOA show, but then again, I wouldn't mind seeing Garou 2 either. I love MotW and I'd like to see Mary, Mai, Andy, and others, and how'd they'd look in Garou 2.

Given that this is getting some small level of hype, I am thinking it will be SNK vs. Capcom, MVS style.

After getting into Last Blade, I am less a Samurai Shodown fan than before. I think I might even be a little disappointed if the announcement is Samurai 5. If it is, I am hoping for something new and revamped as opposed to another of the SS 3/4 look and feel.

why they dont like SS? coz they havent got any clue of how to play it. same as wakuwaku7 & such.
i bet those ppl more likely on "shooter" or "puzzle" type kinda games. no foward half circle foward kinda guy.

same here man, i wish there is a new SS series. i never seen SS hyper64 yet tho they say it sucks, unlike da 2D counterpart.
