Since I was the 10th buyer, the Neo Store Expressed it to me and I recieved it yesterday.

After looking at, comparing it to the last Total-SNK release (JPN KOF2k), I can tell you that this is the real deal.

The insert, manual, cart sticker... And even the folded baggy for the instruction booklet are all IDENTITICAL to their KOF2k counterparts. I haven't jacked the thing open to see if the guts were soldered -and I won't...

let me do a brief breakdown:

The Box: SNK Snap-case, as usual.

The Insert: Same paper as others, same size insert. The printing is perfect. There is no URL on the back. It has the "Not to be reproduced" box on the back with the usual fine print. "Made in Japan." It is Blue striped.

The Cart Sticker: same paper quality as KOF2k, same printing quality (that slightly over-colored bluriness around the edges that my KOF2k, '99 (JPN), and '98 (US) have.

The instructions: Same CD-cover size they've been using. Had the orange epilespy warning card. Same paper and paper quality. They even bagged it in the same way as my new KOF2k (JPN) cart.

So let this arguement be settled. This thing is sitting in front of me (along with a Zupapa poster and promo sheet) - from this Neo collector's perspective:
Shawn and the Neo Store have delivered.

-and yes, if there was any sort of discrepency, I would have been the first to jump on Shawn for an answer (right here in the forums). However, I can't find anything -and I've been screwed by fakes via eBay before (for nothing more than $50, thank god).

When the rest of you start getting these, check on my comments. I'm 95% sure that this is totally, surely the real deal.

oh yeah...one more thing:

yes! Yes!! YES!!! Metal Slug 3, FINALLY!

I really had no doubts. It's nice to see a first hand comfirmation from someone though.

Now we just have to wait for the screaming lunatics to come in here and starting saying its still fake.

Y'know -seriously, if you are right. Then you should help us nail someone for copywrite infringement because its stamped "(C) SNK 2000" on everything.

I think all DSD is trying to say is that this is an Apple game... but since they are offical SNK distro these days... for real even... then I guess it is as good as SNK USA making it. Just my thought.

Apple has never touched or seen an English MS3 cartridge. They were shipped from Japan to Memphis, and were completely producted and assembled by SNK in Japan. Period.

However this rerelease was issued this year. 2K1..
How can that be stamped 2000?
Or was that a typo.

I agree Geddon, it's authentic SNK, manufactured by SNK, shipped by SNK directly to Shawn. But for anyone who belongs to the NGF forums, Dion and Chris are desperately trying to discredit the English MS3. They got caught having faked the "English" KOF2K cartridge (which has dropped in value like a stone by the way), and are bitter and resentful that Shawn actually accomplished what they could never do in all the years they've been in the hobby. Still to this day they try to discredit the English MS3 release, its really a joke. They even get their fake IDs together and have them post in their own forums, aggreeing with them ("Gordy", "Luke", "Atom", "Beemer") its really quite funny to read. Very entertaining.

As for the other doubters here, one in particular, nothing you say or do will convince them . . . they'll stubbornly hold to their false views no matter what proof you provide. Brainwashed zombies, if you ask me . . . really pathetic.

And they don't even have the GUTS to give up their "source", although by now it should be apparent to most people here . . . and no I don't mean the ambiguous duo!

Well, since they used the same artwork cover for Metal Slug 3 when it first came out (2000).....

All I can say is Thanks Shawn. I already had the japanese MS3 so I didnt order one from Shawn But I am very happy that Shawn is working close with SNK to produce these carts. I will be buying my Sengoku 3 from him ( like most people I perfer the english instructions and inserts), and instead of everybody trying to prove thats its not real and just going on about stupid shit we should end all the arguements and stand behind neo-geo.com for future releases.
The Neo scene is like a f**kin soup opera and we need to stop all the petty crap and come together. Now if we can get a rerelease of dodge ball I will be truly happy.
Peace
Steve

Thanks for clearing that up.
However it still is weird because the insert has been remade in English would that alone not accomadate a correct dating of the insert?
Unless they made the US insert last year?
Well we know SNK, I would not be surprised if they "mispelled" there company name

All right,

I just called Apple Photo Systems myself (888.607.2444 ) talked to the receptionist and then talked to Bob Douglas, sales rep., himself. He said "We don't deal with the Home system"
he also said "As far as I know, no company in America deals with the home system." He had no idea about the home system at all -they've never dealt with it.

Now... What does that tell us? Does it defend this bullshit being spouted by DSD? Nope, sorry. It defends the truth:

Shawn independently negotiated and financed this directly with SNK, who sent him the games directly.

Sorry, after actually talking to this guy -I reconfirmed what I've already known: The truth.

That's funny, because Alan (who owns the company), seems to think they are the "exclusive" distributor for both MVS and AES in the U.S.

Seems like a lot of people think of themselves the same way...

Hey LWK, that's how they do things... the Copyright for MS3 was 2000. Sometimes you will see stuff like Copyright 2000, 2001 SNK... but usually companies just use the old date that reflects the original copyright. Good observation though

Dammit! I wish I lived in Illinois! Now I have to wait until tomorrow... Ugh, this is gonna be a long wait!

Seriously, DSD, I have no idea what you guys are trying to prove... Normally I have respect for you guys, most of the things you guys have fought for in the past I agreed with... But you're really putting your energies to waste here. Who cares if Apple printed the inserts? If what that guy said in the phone call is true, then they are in fact the US distrubutors for SNK... So what are you trying to prove? The game is official. Who cares where the shit is printed?

There's only one thing I still have questions about now... In Dion's hilariously pathetic attempt to scrape together anything he could to discredit this release, he pointed out that the shipping boxes SNK normally uses were not used for this release... That is admittedly kind of odd. The only thing I can think of is that they ran out of the boxes that have their name printed all over it, just like they ran out of the gold warning stickers. I mean, don't get me wrong.... In no way does that actually discredit this release, but you gotta admit it is a little weird... Anyone care to explain that?

Shawn, I think it's time for you to step up and clear up any misunderstandings that still exist... I'm not too sure what those are though, I'm still confused about what that fuckhead Dion is trying to prove, other than he's not actually the "official US distributor" anymore. Not that there was ever any doubt in intelligent people's minds. I'm still confused about what any of the Devils were trying to prove saying this release was fake, and that the call to Apple somehow proved that... This is a really confusing situation.

Anyway, this is still the best thing that's ever happened to the Neo. It feels just like old times

No offense chainsawyak, because I actually have a great opinion of you, but I think the whole box issue is not even worthy of bothering with. Clearly Dion desperately grasping at anything he can to discredit this home cart release, and his attempts have failed. He even called upon all his other FAKE IDs (i.e. himself in other cheap guises) in the NGF FORUMS ("Luke", "Beemer", "Gordy", etc.) to help him discredit it!!

I just heard from a good friend of mine, and his MS3 came today and he said it looks PERFECT, 100% SNK original. Don't feed into Dion's BULLSHIT, his pathetic lame attempts to spoil this huge new release . . . shipping box style doesn't cut it, the cart is real. It's here (well mine will be "here" tomorrow) and its done.

And NGF is "done" too . . .
