Since I was the 10th buyer, the Neo Store Expressed it to me and I recieved it yesterday.
After looking at, comparing it to the last Total-SNK release (JPN KOF2k), I can tell you that this is the real deal.
The insert, manual, cart sticker... And even the folded baggy for the instruction booklet are all IDENTITICAL to their KOF2k counterparts. I haven't jacked the thing open to see if the guts were soldered -and I won't...
let me do a brief breakdown:
The Box: SNK Snap-case, as usual.
The Insert: Same paper as others, same size insert. The printing is perfect. There is no URL on the back. It has the "Not to be reproduced" box on the back with the usual fine print. "Made in Japan." It is Blue striped.
The Cart Sticker: same paper quality as KOF2k, same printing quality (that slightly over-colored bluriness around the edges that my KOF2k, '99 (JPN), and '98 (US) have.
The instructions: Same CD-cover size they've been using. Had the orange epilespy warning card. Same paper and paper quality. They even bagged it in the same way as my new KOF2k (JPN) cart.
So let this arguement be settled. This thing is sitting in front of me (along with a Zupapa poster and promo sheet) - from this Neo collector's perspective:
Shawn and the Neo Store have delivered.
-and yes, if there was any sort of discrepency, I would have been the first to jump on Shawn for an answer (right here in the forums). However, I can't find anything -and I've been screwed by fakes via eBay before (for nothing more than $50, thank god).
When the rest of you start getting these, check on my comments. I'm 95% sure that this is totally, surely the real deal.
oh yeah...one more thing:
yes! Yes!! YES!!! Metal Slug 3, FINALLY! <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
