Yo should have naturally known this, KOF IS A VERY POPULAR FRANCHISE.
No way in hell is it going to be the last, I sense it will go past 2K5.
You can bank me on it.

hELLZ yeah.
I mean for one KOF is like there most popular franchise, why the fuck would it end so quick?
Its one of the only series that constantly IMPROVES IMO.
It always feels refreshing and nothing equals that feeling when you fight at the cades against other people.
I have the HC version of 2K and I still fight others at the cades, all about Jhun and Benimaru, Kyo and Iori.
Of course I could let my enemy choose my team for me. <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0">
Me and Neobuyer might have a match some time. we might make bets as well.

Since Eolith is using their own technology, it may not be MVS based meaning it will be exclusive for other systems. This is only a possibility and I am not saying KOF 2002 will leave MVS, but it is possible.

Would SNK let Eolith move the franchise away from the MVS though?

Don't forget, most of the arcade business SNK does comes from countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, Mexico, etc., and the amount of MVS machines they already have in place there far surpasses all their other markets.

If Eolith was to move to a different system, SNK takes the chance on loosing a whole boatload of money on the deal.

I mean, what arcade operator would want to order a whole new cabinet or board when it's so much easier, not to mention cheaper, to just buy a new cart for the cab(s) they already have?

I didn't mean that it would leave MVS, but Eolith will have control. So they could do whatever they please with King of Fighters.

I agree with Real Bout Maniac. It wouldn't be a wise move if they changed the hardware for which KoF is developed for. Here in Mexico they have lots of KOF machines, and I mean lots and lots of them. They have like 3 '95s and 2 '98s etc. at each arcade!! And there are arcades practically in every corner!!! KoF is indeed the most popular arcade franchise in Mexico. There's always like 20 credits on each KoF 2000 machine. (BTW, when you put a coin in the machine it implies that your next after whoever put his coin before you.) BTW, I'm just curious, what is the country with the most KoF machines???

Judging by the traffic and posts on the KoF mailing list, I'd say it's a toss-up between Mexico, Hong Kong and Singapore.

All 3 countries seem to be crawling with MVS machines.

<sigh>

Lucky bastards... <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0">
