The INSERT FTP, What I need to help us all...

With this OUTBREAK of Inserts I am trying to figure out how I should handle this to make it BEST for all.
I need somone with a FAST connection who can accept all uploads,check them out and then upload them to the FTP...my section of it,also edit the HTML page anyway you see fit giving the proper credit to whoever donates an Insert.
Before tomorrow..have we come to any kind of agreement as to what format these inserts should be in and the Dimension(specifically that's best suited for the MVS case)?.All Inserts will be ACCEPTED as variety is best.
I'm thinking EPS ONLY??? or EPS along with another format...
Help me out guys... also who wants to help me ensure that this Insert FTP GROWS and moves forward rapidly....

If it's someone I feel comfortable with..you can have access immediately.
What's will be the other format we will use???

Hey, I'll help you out. I have some wicked HTML skillz and shiznit...hehe. no seriously, i can make a pretty good webpage. i have a fat connection too, cable <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> am i good enough for you?

also, i think that on the ftp you should have some basic insert image starters, like a hi-res neo spine logo, and snk logo, and a template in mvs case size. maybe even a meg count logo thingy...i know i need thoes.

I appreciate the offers...
who's has the FASTEST modem connection of the three of you??? Is it Sonic??
Anybody who has an insert they wish to UL,please leave me mail and I will give you the account and password.This will enable you to upload your Inserts at your lesure..and I will discuss with you some other things..like dimensions,format,etc...
I know we want EPS. Nobody has suggested what the other format should be....
should it just be EPS????
Let me know...
In the meantime I will invite those of you I've seen create inserts with the account and password if you don't get to me first.

I too have a cable modem, I can sustain a rate of about 40k a sec up on just about any day... good days go off at about 300k, but it is rare <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> I run HTTP and FTP services on this box, with a static domain name. I may not be faster then sonic, but I can help him and you out with the sorting.

If we are going for ease of use I would say the files should be EPS, TIFF, or PSD. All files should be zipped to save the little space it does save. Working out naming conventions should also be done on the hubs... that way files are a standard naming (looks a lot better in my opnion). BreakerRevenge.zip, or Breakers_Revenge.zip, or breakrev.zip. Oh well, just some thoughts, I am tired! <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

i think the second format should be BMP because everyone has it! or little gif thumbnails, hehe.

sorry about the lack of updates on my ms insert...i'll finish it soon. its just that my pc doesnt handle 300dpi too well and the shots from neorage x look like shit in 300dpi, but maybe i'm doing something wrong...little help here? thanks! <IMG SRC="smilies/glee.gif" border="0">

The page should be very basic...maybe table format... that's about it...

Great.so far.. You see our page now right?? This is the format we want.. We want the Author of the Insert,a small JPG of the insert and the file in parts listed near the insert...and basically border each piece...iyt's coming along GREAT!
I just want to give a BIG Thankyou to Ryo Geo who has come through with the UL and edit for the REAL BOUT and the SENGOKU Inserts. Home Brew GREATNESS!!
Your Insert does not have to specifically fitted for an MVS case but we ask that you give us permision to do so..that way we can list them both.

This is really, really funny... I offered my help to host all/any inserts on www.roarvgm.com if people helped sending them over to me. They'd be on a fast, safe place for everyone to leech. Too bad, noone cared to even answer to my post on this board. Oh well...

Hey, Daemon. I actually saw your post, but it disappeared (moved down the list) so fast I didn't have a chance to respond...and then I forgot! Big Bear has all the storage and bandwidth we can eat, but if you want to store stuff as well I doubt he would mind. In fact, I think it would be a REALLY good idea to have two sites. That way, if one goes down for ANY reason (maintenance, etc...) the other one would be available.

I know that I would love for my layout to be on as many sites as are willing to host it. So what do you say? You still wanna host? I think you have made a great offer!

Hey, Andy. Didn't mean to offend. I simply uploaded what I had printed for myself a week or so earlier. As for the size, I didn't think you would mind. I didn't distort ANYTHING. All ratios were maintained and no touch up were made (because it doesn't need them! <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> ). Also, as for the format, EPS is fatter anyway, so again, I didn't think it of any consequence. The EPS file is HUGE, so no loss of detail whatsoever.

Should the occassion rise again, I'll be sure and ask. Sorry bro. <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0">

As far as the other site goes..great if you want to do it. I provide a link for your site and you can do the same for me.
We're still into the early stages and working out all the KINKS...
The multi-user limit was set to 10 so tht will be upgraded..
