I am uncertain why a limited run of AES II machines would be any different than the limited runs of converted carts. The converted carts run nearly the price of the AES II, which !Arcade! stated would be around $450. Based on what !Arcade! has said, the AES II is a AES/MVS/ and "Supergun" machine all in one. For those of us who are trying to break into the Neo scene, this is the ultimate product to justify getting into this expensive hobby. It seems anything that gives support to the Neo Geo scene, which is 11 years old, would be very welcomed--regardless if it is SNK or not. Company just dont attempt to make a product like this for a small audience that often. Regardless of !Arcade!'s lack of info or strategy, if the product is as stated--modded AES,MVS, and Supergun, I dont think many could say that $450 is not a fair price. A new modded AES ($250-300), new MVS ($150-200), and Supergun (MAS--$300). Add it up and you have around ($700-$800). I for one would never purchase those items separately although I would like to have all three, but with an all in one package--I could truly be involved with all aspect of Neo--AES, MVS, and even Hyper 64. If MAS systems can market to the arcade player, I think the AES II would appeal to that market of arcade collector that can play Jamma boards on a TV and then get into the AES scene. I think the AES II could open more doors for this scene from other areas. Who wouldn't sell their supergun set-up, etc. and get a brand new, all in one set-up with its other features. This is a big loss for lots of people trying to get into the Neo scene and may not see an opportunity like this one to reasonable get into it. Hope !Arcade! reconsiders and support for at least a trial run is given.
