Any rumors on another Magician Lord?

Just wondering if another Magician Lord has ever been considered? I am a huge fan of the original and it would be great to see another quality 2-D action game.

Magician Lord 2 was a work in progress at one time, it's on the unreleased games list I think.

Wasn't that several years back though?

Never heard of it? Wow!
It's alright, but it's the most difficult neo game known to man.

Never heard of it? It was like one of the first Neo games, back in it's day it was pretty much the "Showcase" game for what the Neo could do graphically.

Maybe so, that is unless you play the Neo CD version, which is a damn cake-walk. Instead of starting you at the beginning of a stage when you die, or at a particular check point, it starts you right where you die, plus the continues are unlimited. I've had this game since I got the Neo when it came out so long ago, but I saw the CD version at a comic shop for a measly $20, and couldn't help myself. This game shows it's age quite a bit, but it still has some real pretty visuals and effects. Shame part two never got completed, that is if they ever started work on it and it wasn't just a lame rumor that they did.

On a side note, anybody play Magician Lord on a modded or Japanese system? Gal Agiese has a pretty cool voice when he talks before the boss fights, unlike the sorry English voice: "You persistant guy. Be dead down here..."

Actually, I love those voices. They may be lame to you now, but they sure bring back memories. Along with NAM-1975, Magician Lord defined the NEO in the early days.

I agree, I can't imagine Magician Lord without the odd voices.

NAM had a nice voice in the lead roles (the main guy and Dr. R. Muckley), but Nancy Muckley and the enemy taddle-tale were hillariously bad.

There's no Magician Lord 2 on CD-rom, it's Crossed Swords 2.

For me, playing Magician Lord brings back the memories of playing an arcade game instead of Genesis on my TV. It's also a challenge to see how far you can get before continuing.
